(Author's note: Yes, I know in the comics they had an issue about pro-wrestling, where Cheerilee's twin sister was a famous masked wrestler, and all the mane-6 except for Rarity were into it, but the nature of the comics' relationship to the show's canon is debateable at best, and I'm choosing to not use it as canon in this case)
As a wrestling fan myself I love this story, the references were perfect without being too obvious. I can't wait to see what Twilight actually sees the wrestling in the ring.
Your authors note is actually incorrect. Rarity was in the comic..... I won't spoil it but she played a fairly huge part.

You misunderstand me :P I know Rarity was in the comic (I have it as part of my collection), what I mean was that Rarity was the only Mane 6 member who wasn't interested in the wrestling show.

Why is Twilight repeatedly called a unicorn in this? She is clearly a princess and alicorn for this story unless there is some alternate universe aspect I'm missing somewhere.

I'll admit, you've got me hooked on this one. I'm not familiar with wrestling after the '80's ended but I'm having fun reading this. I might not be getting the references but it is a fun read and that little turn of events there at the end of this chapter is delightful. I'm kind of looking forward to Twi and Spike talking with the Neighponese wrestlers assuming that will come up too but I can see that as holding up the main plot if it was too detailed.
Who is this? I thought it was Buckenhoof.
