The worst part is I could see this happening to Twilight. She’s so dedicated to the good of Equestria it wouldn’t be surprising for her to end up going into “The ends justify the means” trail of thought. Only for it to backfire in the long run, leaving ashes, sorrowful alicorns, and political unrest.

The idea of her failing friendship isn’t as far fetched as we like to think, Friendship is only a concept, Twilight for all her power is fallible pony. After reading this I almost wish it was longer to capture that slow realization but it remains well written. I like to imagine Fluttershy went to go looking for Discord in the end not believing Twilight. But it’s left open for us to decide. I wonder what happened to rarity though.... While I never liked her as much as a character I still like to hope that she at least tried to support her remaining friends.

It would be kind of interesting to have another story that covers the long-term consequences of all this. Even though it seems to be mostly twilights doing I feel like many ponies would be unwilling to allow alicorns Power to remain unchecked. But who knows really... Perhaps it could be done through the eyes of the remaining alicorns Looking at a world they no longer recognize.

Well you're in luck! I'm kinda working on a story that revolves around Fluttershy and Rarity after the Discord thing. So stay updated I presume...not soon anyway. Might take me a few months since I'm busy on my own ambitions at the moment.
