Modern Equestria doesn't need Flash Magnus out there on the front lines battling monsters anymore. And he's fine with that. He is. Really.
But when a matter arises that dates back to the earliest days of pony unification, Magnus finds himself calling upon skills he'd almost forgotten he possessed to once again save the day. With a little help from his friends, of course...
My entry in Shrink Laureate's Season 9 Bingo contest, this story got an Honorable Mention and was inspired by a set of images that I'll link to in the Author's Note at the end to avoid spoilers.
Earth ponies are seriously overpowered. And I love it.
My mother has taught or tutored for decades now. This flawlessly captures how she'd summarize her teaching experience in as few words as possible.
What? Applejack doesn't constantly have a lasso on her person? 0/10, immersion broken beyond repair, see me after class.
In all seriousness, brilliant work, especially the confluence of those last three prompts. A most enjoyable adventure from start to finish, to say nothing of that end scene. And that earth pony-assisted braking manuever was fantastic. Thank you for a great read, and best of luck in the judging.

Thanks, folks!
I was absolutely shocked at how well the five images fed into each other. And dirigibles! And muffins!

That was a lot of fun. And wow, yeah, it's amazing the story those randomly selected pictures told.
I half expected them to distract him with a laser pointer :p
And oddly on the nose artifacts are the best.
As has been said, Rarity captures the teaching experience PERFECTLY.
Poor Flash...a true hero of Equestria. At least Pinkie’s remedies, while comical, will likely be TROUBLINGLY effective.
I guess other races have their version of an Alicorn Amulet. It’s just as well he didn’t become a sphinx. Imagine one of THEM in a court of law. “The defendant will refrain from making the witness disappear.”
And now I want to have a story that somehow involves Abyssinian Riddle Magic.

Thanks, folks!
In a recent issue of the comic, it was strongly implied that at least the king of Abyssinia is as immortal as Celestia and Luna. One could imagine all sorts of sphinx-related shenanigans if that were the case...
