Yeah, a lot of it is buildup. I wanted to split the chapters up so that the first chapter didn't seem too bulky. In retrospect, probably should've published the two parts together.

Yeah. Even if it was split in two chapters, none of this made any bucking sense. It doesn't help that Discord popped in and commented on the whole thing.
