First Suri Polomare story (with the tag of course) in months! The previous one with the tag was my UK Friend's, aka The-Blue-EM2's, 8 Magic Nights story! O_O
I thought Rarity already opened up a store in Manehatten.

This is an AU, with more focus on Rarity and a small cast other characters -- both new and old. It's a familiar story, told from a new perspective.

I started writing this story two and a half years ago before the episode was aired. I've now begun rewriting and revamping it entirely. Since the episode has now aired, I've had to add an Alternate Universe tag to indicate that I'm not following the timeline of the show.
I'm taking the premise of "Rarity opens a boutique in Manehatten" in a completely different and hopefully more emotionally driven direction. I do wonder, however, by reading your comment I wonder whether you've read the first chapter?
That might help you see how I'm writing a new take on an existing story.

Hmmm, interested where this goes. I can certainly see Savvy's angle, though - by forcing Rarity into a hard, but not impossible situation, she also forces her to prove that she's not just another bright-eyed amateur that's all dreams and no experience or ability, and someone running a boutique will face far worse challenges than this.

Hi, I can assure you the story won't die. Progress has just been really slow for numerous reasons. The cover art was from deviant art and one of my editors has recommended I get something commissioned. I currently feel this would be a waste of money on my part and wouldn't benefit the artist in terms of exposure as this story has less than a hundred views.
Bonny work! Plenty of nice scene-setting and establishing the stakes so far. Plenty of lovely and vivid descriptions of Manehattan in autumn, and the characters are true to themselves. Intrigued by who else may yet show up, especially the promised former antagonist.
Looking forward to how events develop, and for more of this.
The atmosphere in this piece only layers better with each chapter. I really like the careful puns too like 'hay-day' instead of 'heyday' being used.
