So that's what you meant about Combustion Man having (in a way) a connection to this story. Although, for me, the first thing that came into my mind about someone losing an arm and a leg before having them replaced with metal limbs is Edward Elric from the Fullmetal Alchemist series.
I don't know if it only happens to me, but there is a missing part in the conversation at the beginning between Celestia and Spike, after Spike asks him why the ponies are naked, he jumps to celestia describing Fluttershy

This was a awesome and sweet chapter, I'm still hoping Discord and Celestia get another chance at have there own Spike. Pulse when thinking about a person with Medal limes Combustion man is only the second person I think of Edward Elric will always be number 1 in my book.
