This is a first story from your universe that I’ve read, but I have to say, the premise looks promising, and I like the driving conflict so far. The execution could use some work though—there’s quite a lot of sentence fragments that make the story rather hard to read, and some of the scenes are described in a rather chaotic way, so I had to read them more than once to begin to grasp what’s going on. There were also multiple spots with missing punctuation (most notably before a direct address in dialogue and also before some participial phrases) and some incorrectly used punctuation in direct speech. If you want, I can explain more in this regard. The rules are pretty simple to understand and their right usage makes the story far more pleasant to read
