A "Equestria at War" story.

Johan "Djavulen" Jelzek, King of Olenia, has problems with legitimacy. His mother was not the queen, and he is illegitimate. His sister, Velvet, had the only proper claim to the throne out of the children of their father, King Aldar II. She squandered it when she upset the nobles, clergy and capitalists with promises of equal rights for does, protection from exploitation to workers, and secularisation of the law. But simply because Johan does not threaten these interests does not make him popular to any deer.

Equestria, long considering Olenia a backwards nation and Velvet their brightest hope to see harmony flourish in Olenia, has been greatly displeased with Johan's rule. They harbour his estranged half-sister and make no secret of their hopes of restoring her to the throne. And to the north, in a place even more cold and desolate than Olenia, the Queen of all Changelings is building her army in preparation for revenge against the Equestria. And may decide at any time that Johan's kingdom should be their territory.

Trapped between two powers, there is little that Johan can do to resist. Except, perhaps, decide that resistance is worse than collaboration...
