So they turn their backs just as fast just because she can't donate any food??? Bruh
Good story though, keep it up!

"I don't celebrate the Holidays," Sunset insisted, "Now if you don't mind," she stepped around Rainbow Dash and somehow made it to the door without being intercepted.

"What do you mean, 'You don't celebrate?"' Pinkie's voice echoed out behind her, causing Sunset to flinch, her previous comment was forgotten, but she wasn't sure it had been worth it.

Sunset stopped, her hand on the door, "Never seen the point," she confessed as the school bell started a stampede that the four at the door had to quickly step out of the way of.

"That's the most Scroogest thing I've ever heard," Pinkie exclaimed, "Well, besides Bah Humbug, but still."

You know what I heard, Pinkie? I heard her admit that she never had a reason to celebrate Christmas (or Hearth’s Warming to be more accurate) because she’s always been alone. That’s a pretty good reason to not have any holiday cheer if you ask me. After all, what’s the point in celebrating if you don’t have any family or friends to share the spirit of the season with?

Mr. Cranky looked up from his desk, "Sunset, I've noticed that you haven't turned in any cans for extra credit," he said, loudly, so that the whole class could hear, "I don't need to tell you that you need the extra credit to past this class. Your grades have dropped drastically since the Fall Formal."

"I'm sorry Mr. Cranky, donating food is just something that I can't do at the moment," Sunset muttered.

"Ah thought ya changed," a new voice called out as Applejack entered the classroom, "But Ah guess Ah was wrong."

Sunset groaned, great first Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash, now Applejack thought that she was faking as well, "Pinkie already told me I'm acting like a Scrooge."

"Well Ya are," Applejack commented, shaking her head, "But Ah guess a Zebra can't change its stripes."

Ever stop to think that Sunset can’t afford to give anything to charity, Applejack? That she’s one of the less fortunate people those donations are for?

The Rainbooms need to stop being sanctimonious bitches and actually find out why Sunset’s acting the way she is instead of assuming she’s being a Scrooge for the heck of it.

"And she said she didn't celebrate Christmas," Pinkie insisted, "Who doesn't Celebrate Christmas?"

'Scuse me Pinkie, but Hanukka and The Jewish Community would like to have you word with you. And Kwanzaa would like to step in with it's African Community shortly afterwards. :ajbemused:

The ghostly Unicorn laughed, "I guess that's another thing that's different, none of you know me, I'm Rosethorn, I was an orphanage caretaker at an orphanage in Manehatten, in Equestria. I'm the closest thing to a family Sunset ever had, which is why I'm here.

"You seem so caught up with your own holiday plans and helping the greater good, you never even think that one of your own might be struggling." Rosethorn snapped, whipping her gray mane around, "That's why I'm sending three spirits to you. They'll be able to explain what's going on with Sunset Shimmer better than even she could."

"Why are you visiting us," Rainbow Dash demanded

Rosethorn ~ :rainbowhuh: "...Seriously? I just explained why you idiot!" :flutterrage:

"Sunset Shimmer's the Scrooge."

Rosethorn ~ "And it's not clicking in your head as to why Sunset is acting like this? Even after I, who just seconds ago, explained that Sunset Shimmer use to live in an orphanage that I had ran years ago!?" :twilightangry2:

"What are you talking about?" Pinkie demanded, "She doesn't even celebrate Christmas."

Rosethorn ~ :facehoof: "Neither does The Jewish, little girl. Are you gonna hate them as well?" :ajbemused:

I was right about Sunset’s reason to not celebrate Hearth’s Warming being that she had no friends or family to share it with, and you have no idea how much I really wanted to be wrong. :fluttercry:

Wow that was sad to hear what happened to her

Nice chapter keep it up

Saw this at work on fimfiction on my phone and was hoping yu had an fimfiction account. I'm liking what you wrote so far.

Poor Sunset, I feel very sorry for her having live like that while the rest of the school have an actual home that provides warmth and shelter from the elements while she barely makes it through.

I look forward to seeing what the Spirit of Hearthswarming Future will show to the school and I've got a good feeling it's not going to be very pretty.

Keep it up

It’s a great story

Another good chapter andlook forward to next one.

Does anyone else wonder how sunset is able to live by herself in the human world? I mean renting out a house or apartment can be expensive. Sure she living by herself where the others have family

Calling it now. The electric heater is defective and starts a fire which burns the warehouse down. This is what the ghost of the future will show.

Weird and a bit disturbing but great story.

However, the constant ache of her chest, the cough that had appeared six months ago and had not gone away. Her constant headaches, and loss of appetite. She bet if she did run into someone from High School they wouldn't even recognize her...

Somebody get Sunset to a doctor! :raritycry:

The lights suddenly flared into life causing the students to blink in confusion, they were back at the school.

"Discord? What are you doing?" a soft voice called out, echoing through the room.

The voice was familiar, so familiar that all of Fluttershy's friends turned to look at her.

Fluttershy shook her head, "It wasn't me.“

Way to kill the mood, Ponyshy! :rainbowlaugh:

Great, I had to be right about that too. So, how does it feel knowing you gave a destitute girl crap for having nothing to give to charity, Applejack?

I’m actually asking since I noticed Applejack wasn’t beating herself up for giving Sunset a hard time about not giving anything to the food drive when she literally couldn’t afford it.

"This just will not do," Rarity pretty much snarled, causing anyone near her to turn to look at her, "Her living conditions are deployable!" she insisted, "There has to be something we can do."

Also, just pointing it out: I think you meant to spell deplorable.

So
This entire story
Was made by Discord?
And he's the guy who forced Sunset's friends to say mean things to her so he'd have a excuse to re enact the Hearthswarming Carol? ...

HAHAAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAH :rainbowlaugh:
Sounds like something Discord would do

10593560
Indeed it does sound like Discord would do as he IS the spirit of chaos.

10593504
Of course it's a bit weird and disturbing, it was Discord the whole time.

10593650
Actually the disturbing part was reading that sunset was slowly dying doing what she did

It was weird hearing that it was all fake but at least his heart was in the right place

"Discord?" There was a sharpness to Fluttershy's voice now that made everyone look uneasily at the teenager version.

Yes everyone, what you heard is what Fluttershy sounds like when she's not happy with you; learn it. Fear it.

10593736
Oh for sure, FEAR it with all your might otherwise it won't end very well.

I'm glad that Sunset gotten a happy ending with getting an adopted family with Principal Celestia and Vice-Principal Luna.

Nice story but a very large time skip from the last chapter to the current one. Kind of was hoping to see the progress of how the HuMane Five and the Principals would go about after learning of Sunset’s past and present.

Great story but i was king of hoping to see the human 6 and other to confront sunset about her past and living conidition.

I like how discord taught them a lesson but it would have been nice if they could ended the story before he got caught.

10593721
Well they deserve it a little even in the show the whole she demon didn't end till twilight went bad. And they didn't even say one word to her about it.

Twilight and Sunset both nodded their heads, as Twilight added, "trust me, Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna are very different outside of school. I once got stuck on a roller coaster with Principal Celestia and it was eye-opening."

Okay. I need a fic of this stat!
