Love is a verb, not a noun.

That was great. I always like these heartfelt reunions between Sunset and Celestia.
The gifts were so appropriate, and Sunset proving she learned the lessons Celestia wanted her to—albeit from others—was a great premise for the story.
I will say, the whole gift presentation was pretty emotional, but honestly...

Something like a smile graced the mare’s face. In a rush, Sunset noticed that she was middle-aged, and was the once-young secretary named Raven Inkwell she knew from her days as Celestia’s student.

Raven dabbed once at her eyes before resuming her stern countenance. “You have been expected for a very long time.”

THAT really got me.

Great job, Dan!

This hit all the right notes and an apprentice onion cutting ninja even stopped by briefly. Well done.

Very cute! I'm a sucker for stories that show Sunset and Celestia with this kind of relationship and this was especially sweet for being set around the holidays.

That was supremely sweet and adorable, with just the right amount of feels. Also:
Sunset used to hate Celestia, her mentor of magic and the mare who took her in from the streets. The princess of porcelain pristine perfection who preached patience as Sunset grasped for the power and authority Celestia made look so effortless.

She let Celestia groom and fawn over her, giggling as the mare licked down her ear fuzz.

More proof that ponies are cats.

“You have been expected for a very long time.”

Yeah, that was when the tale started touching my heart. It never stopped.

A lovely little tale, with just the right amount of tears. Thank you for writing this.

One little detail, the portal is open for three day/night cycles (the length of a full moon) ... :derpytongue2:

This was amazing. Thank you.

Aww. I'm a sucker for Sunny and Celly having a heart to heart.

This hits home, and damn does it hit hard :fluttershysad:

So many warm fuzzies. I always enjoy a good solar reunion story.

Great story though I feel like there is more to it

I am not crying *sad sniff sounds*

WOO, what a ride! Lots of emotions to pack into 1800 words. Raven Inkwell sealed the deal. I couldn't have asked for a better gift :heart::heart:

Sun-sun is fun-fun. Hope your Christmas was a merry one.

I love these little one-shots about Raven, what a hero 😻

Oh and I guess there were a few other characters

This reunion fic was so much more satisfying than what we got during the memory stone.

Well done reunion pieces w. Sunset and Celestia are always welcome, and this one's extra heartwarming!

Celestia and Sunset reunion stories are my most favourite kind to read. This was no exception. Warm fuzzies all round!

Reconciliation between Sunset and Celestia is always heartfelt and warm.

Very nice story.

Lovely bit of double sun heartwarming. Thank you for it.

Yup, Raven being perfectly Raven.

That's so Raven.

This was beautiful. Thank you. :pinkiesad2:

It was good

The portal to Equestria opened every thirty moons, for a night and day. It didn’t take Sunset long to discover both astronomy and math were required to track it, for ‘new moons’ didn’t count and human calendars irregularly placed the magic moment between the eighteenth and twenty-eighth of any given month. December proved weighted to the latter – Christmas came and went before telltale purple shimmered by the school-ground statue.

Serious flaw here. The portal now opens whenever Twilight wants it too. Has been like that since Rainbow Rocks. And it was open for 3 days.

Get your facts right.

I wasn't gonna respond, but the line under your name makes this pretty funny.

Awwwwww, that was really sweet. A very wonderful Gift(s) to give. Even though Hearth's Warming was over the few days before her arrival. It is still something wonderful about it. Keep up the good works you do.
