I think it's the idea that alicorns represent all three tribes equally, so the leap to also representing both sexes equally isn't too far afield.

One thing is a shame though, you established that the portal has a limited range. I could have easily seen this take off as a mini series or multi chapter solo story where Twilight's sex addled mind thought of casting portals around Equestria where her massive marecock would be available anonymously for curious/perverted mares/stallions to use. No announcement and each day would be moved somewhere else. The thought of her friends, acquaintances, relatives or even the other princesses using it without knowing it was Twilight's is such a turn on, especially if say it led to Flurry Heart actually being Twilight's daughter (which would explain her huge amount of backed up magic ability), or her mother/brother pleasuring themselves on her cock. The number of mares she could impregnate anonymously would be limitless.
