I know I've read this story before, but apparently I didn't comment the first time, so: hi! This story was just as lovely the second time through as the first. :) You really nail the vibe of the ever-present, ever-encroaching chill, and the fragile preciousness of what life still remains (like one of Derpy's bubbles). The quiet dread of not knowing how much time there is left for any of them, but also the refusal to let that dread be all there is to life.
Derpy's also a great choice for a POV character, a pegasus in an enclosed world, and I love how you integrate her and Fleur's canonical connections, and build upon them to sell this ship.
