Sunset Shimmer visits from the human world to have tea with Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends Starlight Glimmer and The Great and Powerful Trixie. The conversation leads to Trixie wanting to see which of the two unicorn is stronger: Sunset or Starlight? Curious themselves they decide to have a friendly magical duel to see who is the stronger of the two.

t'was a fine story
That was a fun, friendly battle Starlight and Sunset had.
Even if this story takes place before "Summer Breakdown", the two Twilights did meet in the post-credit clip of "Friendship Games", so just meeting wouldn't cause some world-threatening paradox.
Although if you assume the two Pinkies meeting in the "Friendship Games" blooper reel isn't canon, could physically touching your counterpart do something...?

Ah, the age old question; Sunset or Starlight.
No definitive answer here, but it was pretty fun. I thought the parts about Starlight and Trixie faking Starlight’s death and nobody wanting to help clean up Twilight’s library mess were funny.
I think the second Sunset was meant to be Starlight.
Anyway, great fic! I always love duels between similar characters. Even when the fight ends in a draw for one reason or another, I enjoy seeing the characters banter and clash, since it can highlight their differences as well as their similarities. Overall, this was fun! Little disappointed we didn't get to see Accelero, but since I doubt Sunset knows that particular spell, probably for the best it wasn't mentioned.
Hold up! I got the impression Sunset and human Trixie we're on much better terms since the Memory Stone incident in Forgotten Friendship, maybe even friends, considering Sunset said she'd at least have one friend after the sun went down.
Other than that, great story!

I actually haven't seen anything of Equestria girl besides the first one and Rainbow Rocks. I don't do Equestria Girls commissions, but technically this wasn't Equestria girls so I took it.
Nice story. Now imagine a Twilight VS Cadance duel.

Fun story. Although the official word on Sunset is that, since she left Equestria while she was still Celestia's student, her magical power is less than Twilight's when she was a Unicorn. So she wouldn't really be a match for Starlight, either. Still an entertaining showdown, I must admit.
I wonder if sunset visits equestria and tries to brush up her magic, seeing as she cant do alot what she did in equestria in human world

That was kind of what I was thinking. I would think that living for so long in a world without magic would harm Sunset's abilities. Yes there is the occasional burst of Equestrian magic in the human world but Starlight lives in Equestria and was born with a ton of talent. Look at the feats she has accomplished! I honestly don't think Sunset could hold a candle to Starlight. Twilight couldn't defeat Starlight as an Alicorn using magic (she had to use persuasion) so how would Sunset even compete?
Basically, Starlight should have cruised to an easy victory here. A lot of people hate it when I bring this up but I think Starlight was born with her abilities. I think the only ones who could actually beat her in a magic duel would be Discord, Celestia and Luna.
