This chapter of my life has ended. It was wonderful and I grew so much from it. If you enjoy my stories, that makes me happy. They will be here for as long as this site is still up. Good Bye :D

It all started with a weird crystal growing in the basement. Now Starlight Glimmer is seeing things that feel so real, that she can’t always tell the difference between her visions and reality. But the worst part is the wedge these visions are creating between her and her friends. Will a solution be found before Starlight’s psyche breaks?

thank you so much for the entry!

very nice, starting in the middle of the action. i would definitely have Starlight's reactions here, at all points!

the crystal problem is a great setup idea to get Maud and Starlight in the same space! or at the very least, to force Starlight to confront this strange issue instead of just being able to avoid Maud in her daily life

Thank you! I'm glad you were able to connect so quickly.

yeah I thought long and hard about how to make this weird idea of mine work :pinkiecrazy:

I'm glad it worked for you :pinkiehappy:

do like the StarTrix dynamic here, with Trixie softening as she realizes her anniversary being particularly endearing. makes it all the more awful for Starlight later, i would be that distressed too!

the first section before the break was my favorite bit in the entire story but i know that is because i am a sucker for precisely what you are writing there! so well done, and thank you for that. bouncing, excited Twilight and over-dramatic Luna are both very nice in this, and bringing Luna into the story via her Dreamland explorations is a great touch

this is exactly the kind of thing i love: worldbuilding that connects everything and explains the crystals that appear to be growing everywhere, as well as the idea of Equestria being run on state secrets. and this is a fantastic idea, right down to the name of the material. and Celestia at first being her very canon self and Luna pointing out just how awful that is as a way to be was very nice, as was the return of angry Starlight at the end. very well done here!

and returning to Starlight's very conveniently at-the-Friendship-Castle pre-redemption actions to explain everything is a great idea, with a nice little exploration of Starlight's guilt and self-loathing over it. i also especially appreciated the line of colored hooves wrapping around Starlight, which is just plain adorable! and Twilight being Twilight about things at the end is a nice way for her to exit the fic just as she entered it

and of course, any story where Maud breaks up with Mud Briar to be with Starlight instead will be one where i have to work very hard to not let personal preferences bias my judging too much! overall, i really enjoyed this fic! it was a clever take on the shipping premise that tied into a lot of canon details well in its worldbuilding and characters. it felt like a very "classic" fanfic experience, almost like an episode of a TV show that panders specifically to weird shippers like me. if i had two judge prizes to give, this would have been a strong contender for the second one. thank you for writing it!

Thank you so much

I read though all you comments and they were all so encouraging. I'm super happy that you enjoyed my little bit of craziness and that's honestly the only prize I need :pinkiehappy:

The shipping is strong in this one. :)
