So, the famous Apollo 11 Astronauts; Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins died in this!?

Though everything might be sunshine and rainbows in this new world, his old home might not be so cold anymore. What will happen when Lazarus is found out?

What will happen when the Russians come looking?

And why would the Soviets/Russians come looking for him and the ponies?

Interesting

It's the fact that back at home, the cold war doesn't stay cold for long! During the invasion, the Soviets would stumble onto the machine and set to use it to their advantage, maybe even use it to escape a dying world. Hope this clears things up!

Not bad at all! Can't wait to see more

Oh dear war coming

“That’s a stupid fucking pun…” Rigdon murmured out as he continued to drag himself forward. He continued to look from side to side, his eyes dotting from building to building. One that caught his eye would be the one that Twilight had said was ‘Sugarcube Corner’. He doesn’t know how that thing stands—It looks like it’s literally made out of candy.

I know this annoying cliché I am doing is stupid, but screw you I am doing it anyway. :ajbemused::facehoof:

Wow, that got escalated too quickly. I know that the Russians will come eventually, but not this soon!?

And I know they are the bad guys, but WHY did they mindlessly slaughtered the innocent ponies? They aren't even humans or americans, and have nothing to do with the cold war.

Seriously, they found a new world and new sentient life. And the first thing on the Soviet's minds is to f****** shoot them, no questions asked or diplomacy!? The heck!?

Keep in mind, magical ponies can prove very useful! After all, who knows what capabilities they might achieve from harvesting magic from the ponies :pinkiegasp:

Huh interesting, a day in equestria is a week or month in earth possibly since the Russians wouldn't be able to fix the machine within a day with the axe that mark took to it unless he did less damage then I'm thinking of and even if it was little damage it would have taken a while for the Russians to repair it without documents.

Yeah, Time moves a bit differently in Equestria. Right now on Earth, it's about mid 1970 by now. The invasion scene takes place about a couple of days after Rigdon is sent to Equestria. The command computers that powered it were destroyed, but they can just use the computers upstairs for the basis of their repair, and the actual portal itself was nearly untouched, save for the wiring that Mark had cut. Near the end, I did say that they were able to recover and translate some of the files. Either way, this is only about a handful of troops, (A platoon having only 20-50 or so give or take). So this is really a test run for the Russians. The real force will be coming later. Hope this helps :yay:

Thank you! It helped me understand timeline better!

Thanks for the update!

So, while many innocent ponies get mindlessly dying or being prisoners of the Soviet's. Rigdon and Twilight are just talking about trivial things like Twilight's backstory or talking about Sun facts!?

Instead of, I don't know; FRICKIN WARNING Celestia and Luna that they are invaded, and their own ponies are already frickin DYING!!!!!????? :twilightangry2: :facehoof:

( And also have to warn the other Non-Pony Kingdoms of the potential hostility of the Russians. )

Sure, the pony guard and pony military are total shit, compared to a way, WAY more experienced, competent, and highly advanced military powerhouse like the Soviet's in the Cold War Era. But at least they will be warned, and try to do something at least?

Rigdon could inform them about the real dangers of human weaponry of Guns ( And eventually Tanks, Jets, Missiles, etc.. ), and train them on how to even use them themselves to fight back.

Or at least find Twilight's friends, Spike, their own families in Ponyville, and see if they are alright, or still alive?

Hopefully for everypony ( And Rigdon's ) sake. That Americans actually find a way to get the portal back, and save the day in the end.

Well, this is technically still the same day as it was in the last chapter. With the Soviets in ponyville, they most likely captured the railway system, making travel to any place else quite impossible. Also in this story, I'm not taking a cliché approach that the ponies are super overpowered by humans. They are magic. IF anything, they would just adopt a way to have unicorns use their magic to shoot bullet like beams or use fire magic as some sort of artillery. There is literally no point if he even tells the others of the weapons, because he is an engineer for space travel, not weapons. Either way, how would the soviets even fit all that equipment through a portal meant to fit people? As for Celestia and Luna, the next few chapters will deal with the situation, along with finding friends. As for Spike, it says he's sleeping with twilight. Also, This is not the invasion. This is an expeditionary force that's exploring this new place. Hope this answers your questions

The possibility with being in a war with a more modern enemy with guns and etc can shake up Equestrian politics and make bigger military industry/Civilian industry during this war with Russians and after this war as the Ponies can become a powerhouse and produce their own weapons and such plus upgrade the army/Royal guard to be actually competent, instead bunch of stuck up nobles that know nothing at all and Luna being good with adopting to time with new military tactics they can use since she could be useful as a general, plus Batponies can be quite useful too.

At this point, early on this would most likely end up with a Vietnam/Afghanistan Scenario. Plus, there isn't really going to be a huge Soviet Presence until later on because why would they exhaust their forces instead of fighting all of NATO? Anyways, this was going to act as like an Interwar period, which the ponies can use to get up to scratch to at least match the Soviets in strength.

I’m not sure how familiar you are, so imma go ahead and offer! I’m a collector of Soviet equipment and militaria, so if you want some technical details on Cold War ruski equipment don’t be afraid to contact me.

Oh yeah! I'm a big history buff! I'd love to get an accurate representation on everything!

I don’t like how dehumanized the soldiers are. they are enemies but they are still human.

"I guess I can trust him... But the moment he tries anything funny, he's toast!" She threatened as she gave Rigdon a stink eye. Well, at least she tried to. Twilight slowly walked forward, tears welling up in her eyes. She took a couple of steps forward. She took a moment to find the right words, but she quickly found them.

As someone who hates this cliché in hie fics I have to give you props for actually having there be a valid reason for the mistrust. Most fics I read that have Rainbow, or whoever not trust the human just has it that way just because.

hope the story goes well, keep it up!!!~

Thanks for the updates!

Could you not bring politics into this comment section? I don't want this to turn into a bare knuckle fight between you and someone else
