its okay, i was just wondering what the ending is meant to imply, like them knowing they get crushed your something by your description of the mountain, or just enduring together.
But as Lyra is one of my favorite ponies, an interesting scenario of her with a changeling
Due to the lack of the "Tragedy" and "Death" tags I'll assume that neither of them dies, but those last few lines really make it seem like that's the end of this story.
I'm going to say what others have said, I think you've struck gold with this one-shot. This seems like a very good foundation for a bigger and more interesting story. Two mares who are not on very good terms for obvious reasons are forced to trust each other in order to survive the terrible situation in which they find themselves. What is there to not love about that? Even the seeds of a very intriguing mystery to solve are already planted, after all, our good friend Doodles never answered Lyra's question "Why are you helping me?".
