Bellesmith must perform experimental tasks in order to keep herself and her beloved safe.
I stood upon the brink.
Mist and froth thundered before me, evacuating into the nothingness.
The faintest hint of stars twinkled beyond the edge of the billowing atmosphere.
I had no breath to my lungs, no beat to my heart.
The world shifted and I fell with it.
A sound came from my throat, like the grinding of gears in the darkness.
I spun and flailed.
The tempests leapt to swallow me.
Then, a pale bed of feathers caught my descent.
I landed with a gasp, rediscovering my voice.
I tried calling my beloved's name, because he wasn't there.
Then again, I wasn't there.
I looked at my limbs.
My eyes twitched upon the sky blue color of the coat.
Something heavy was around my neck.
I moved to look at it, but my eyes traveled up the white feathers until I saw whom the wings belonged to.
She looked at me with eyes of pearl blue adoration.
"Bring it," the alicorn said.
I stammered. "Bring what?" a voice cracked.
"Bring the wind to Austraeoh."
My heart skipped a beat.
I began to tremble.
Then someone's desperate voice shattered the edge of the world.
"Belle? Belle!"
The alicorn's face split open from the rising sun, blinding and melting the world to pure white.

Uhh....
Belle's losing it.
wow. I love and hate the way you make us wonder a whole LOT of things.
it's exciting.
Dis gettin' gooooooood.
Does anyone remember what queen whitemane's eye color was?
Whitemane's eyes were pearl blue, not pear blue, so I guess it's not her
So Whitemane told Rainbow to bring the winds to Austraeoh?
Is this some sort of vision or did this actually happen following the conclusion of Austraeoh?

I presume that happened around here and here. Whitemane has a thing about dreams, and there's a small time skip until Dash meets Steelteeth, if I recall correctly. It's possible what Belle synched with there was part of Whitemane's parting gift to Dash, or otherwise occurred in a dream.
Here's the other thing, Axan mentioned "Austraeoh" more like it was an object than a place. The statement is just vague enough where it could mean all sorts of things. What exactly is "the wind" anyway? The winds of change? Literal wind? The pendant? Why does Axan see the pendant and THEN have the moment of realization? Perhaps Austraeoh is part of Whitemane's "gift" and not something Dash had the entire time.

Ah, that placement makes sense. For a second there I was all types of confused.
Well, it looks like Belle is going crazy, faster than expected, actually. I both love and hate not knowing what the crap is going on most of the time - its part of this and Austraeoh's charm, I guess. Onward!
...WHAT?!?!

Oh wow. JUST as I wonder about Austraeoh again, we get teased with more information about it. Again...
Is Austraeoh a place? This
Seems to suggest it is.
But then how did Axan be reminded of Austraeoh at the end of Austraeoh?
We must go deeper!
I answered, "Oh, it's on. Consider it brought."
Dashie's voice always cracks. Just sayin.

love that GIF
You know what I just realized? Dash is traveling east to do more than just retrieve something from the Midnight Armory.
She is also supposed to go and deliver something, not physical perhaps, but an essence of something powerful. She has to "bring the wind" to a place called Austreaoh. This place could be on either side of the world, dark or light, we don't know yet.
Commencing Wild Conjecture Part 2:
Ok, so Austreaoh is not the name/command related to the symbol we have seen. (unless it is both the symbol and the place) This leads me to wager that Eljynbro is not the command relating to the second set of symbols we saw (could be, no way to know as of yet)
Instead, I am going to guess that Austreaoh is the name for the mechanical landscape beneath the world. The memory we just received was not a memory at all. Instead, perhaps these are real-time experiences that rainbow dash is experiencing while she sits in her coma-like state. I say this because Dash isn't dead. She is likely still alive, just barely, clinging to edges of existence. it makes you wonder, what is happening to Rainbow? What does she experience when she is synchronizing? What is she thinking? Is she even capable of intelligent thought?
Well until I receive evidence in the contrary, I am going to maintain a totally baseless theory that Dash is in a near-death state. She is hardly aware of her surroundings and does not know who or where she is (dying is traumatizing, it screws with you). This memory we see is a transmission from Celestia, who is trying to direct dash on a mission to prevent the decay of the world and re-invigorate the machines in Austreaoh.
Austraeoh is a place?!? And we're just now learning this?!?
Mind=Blown
Oh? Did it really have to take a second story to finally get some meaning behind the title of the first?
Day 4: IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW
But not really.
IIIIIt's Dashie's evaluation time!
Alright...erm...okay, I'm not even going to pretend that I understand this. I'm pretty sure we just got a time skip and Belle is back to sequencing again. Here, Whitemane says for Dash to bring the wind to Austraeoh. But I'm tired and want to sleep, so I can't think about that right now. But I can say this - since this vision is new for us, perhaps it means that there was a time skip in Dash's life after Axan, when she would've had this vision, and Eljunbyro. Just something to think about. These are my thoughts so far.
-MASH
Rainbow Dash, where are you!!!???
I'm guessing that Austraeoh is the great machine underneath the world, and bringing the wind to it means repairing or powering it.
If Austraeoh is indeed the machine under the world, then what is Eljunbyro?
Waat.
Okay, I'm not even going to try to understand this yet. I need more context before I can even make a guess. Everything's a mystery. Again. And I was so sure I'd figured out what Austraeoh meant.
1519040
Either that, or Whitemane is telling Belle. This whole business with the spheres and whatnot seems rather dreamlike, don't you think?
ok, I think I understand it.
Austraeoh is a norse word, but here it is what rainbow dash is called, as made clear in the last chapter of the previous book. This is Whitemane popping into Belle's dream about being rainbow dash.
Wind=breath of life. Whitemane wants Belle to find and revive Rainbowdash
Mind=blown.
So Whitemane is telling Bellesmith to bring this wind to Rainbow Dash. Considering the fact that Rainbow Dash was the spark, and the last story was centred around her, I have reason to believe that Bellesmith, the focus of this story, is the wind.
If you bring it, they will come.
A zephyr would be the ideal wind for Dash.
Hmm, if we are to assume that Austraeoh is Loyalty and that Rainbow is the Austraeoh, then it would suggest that brining wind to Austraeoh would mean to make Rainbow fly again.
So that would also mean that Rainbow is trapped somewhere in Ledomare and in need of saving and escape.
There's the title again.
3440961 Old Norse and Old English, if the wiki is correct.
Hm.
Okay, so Celestia shows up to bring Belle a cryptic-as-all-get-out message via dream sequence, and then we get prequel Title Drop.
I am okay with this.
If Baxter is Mustang and Pilate is Havoc, does that make Belle Hawkeye? Food for thought...
Wish I could like this more than once, thus chapter alone is deserving of at least one more like
This was... interesting. I guess that's like somepony's beckoning of Belle to start her journey. I'm getting too antsy in reading this. It's too good.
~SolidFire
So is Austraeoh the planet? If so that's interesting.
6613920 According to the wiki, the world is called Urohringr.
7619361 That should be in a spoiler tag.
Confirmed, alicorns still speak in riddles.

I must say, I'm loving your tiny little FMA comments, person from over a year and a half ago.

Youre concerned about riddles when Whitemane is taljing to Belle?

To be fair, speaking plainly usually would make everyone's job a whole lot easier

Hello White Main our old friend
It time to dream of you again.
Okay, here's the two theories I have and they're both crazy. Clearly Belle is back to sequencing with Rainbow's memories, so this is what I've got based on the assumption that Rainbow Dash is Austreoh, whatever that actually is.
First option, Whitemane is somehow using her power to speak to Belle directly, in real time, through the sequencing machine. This implies that Whitemane is capable of projecting her mind across absolutely insane distances that not even Celestia or Luna seem to be capable of. This is the less mind-fucky of the two options, but also the less plausible because Whitemane has made it clear that she is not as powerful as the proper goddesses and is merely a distant descendant.
The second possibility is that this is indeed a memory and occurred during the conversation in the palace gardens in Emeraldine. We never got the full details because Dash doesn't describe boring stuff. This means that Whitemane said these exact words to Dash with little to no explanation in a way that doesn't make sense in context to their conversation. To me, that implies that Whitemane somehow knew that someone would go digging around in Dash's head looking for answers, showing an incredible ability in precognition, and passed her message through Dash to whoever was on the receiving end.
Either way, while claiming to only being a partial Goddess, Whitemane is showing off some definitely-diety-like powers.
