Another awesome story. Easily as good as your first one.

You never fail to impress DuskQuill, this one is equally or even better than your first story!!
The ending was a little too .... open .... for it to stop here so if there is another story in the pipeline, I will be looking forward to it with great anticipation !!!

They stand upright, like you see Pinkie do in her dances, or when the musicians play their instruments, or sit down, or go prone. They do have to stop moving unless they're Pegasi, so they usually take cover before firing. They grip the rifles with their forehooves, and balance. The trigger guards have been enlarged to fit their hooves, similar to the way they grip cider mugs, and squeezing the trigger is just a matter of flexing their hooves after that.

This amazing artist's work is a good reference and inspiration behind how the ponies fight in my world: Shadawg's DeviantArt.

Hope that clarified a little bit!

Great sequel. Night Shade is a dubious character, he reminds me a bit of Iago. I think the best way you portrayed his personality is through his dialogue, which was superb. Additionally, I also found cupcake to be hilarious. His accented lines, the "you make joke during dangerous mission" line, so on and so forth, I really liked him. There was a nice amount of comedic relief, relieving some pressure throughout the story, especially when Skyfall busted on their Captain. The ending was good, and the parts after it wrapped up everything nicely. I really do enjoy how you add pleasant outros to your stories, unlike some who terminate their story right after the climax.

Also, Fleethoof looks good in a suit. He should wear one more often.

Many thanks, kind sir.

Treason is where I started adding soundtracks/music in to help add to the atmosphere. I still don't know how well those went over though...

Hi! I'm with the Good Grammar Directory. Your story has been approved and added to our folders. :)

He hails from the domestic Frozen North, post-Crystal Empire disappearance... which I made the equivalent of Russia. So yeah. :twilightsheepish:

His name was also intentional. I knew people would pick up on him having a similar name to Mrs. Cake and laugh at a Russian pony with a filly's name. And then they get to see what he does later on. :rainbowdetermined2:

Welcome to the shipping war! You have just taken your first step into the realm of Skyfall ships! Now you can read on and pick your own side as you go! Who will fall in love with who? Is it the pair we expect, or will new characters come in an muddle it all up? Will anypony even fall in love?! Also, don't worry too much about anything set to happen. Here's a very accurate representation of how my stories work:

I usually hold true to most canon events and occurrences, but I do twist everything up as well. Basically, expect everything and nothing. Enjoy the ride. :pinkiecrazy:

Thank you kindly for all the comments! I love getting feedback, and each of your comments is greatly appreciated. I'm very glad you've been enjoying the series so far. All I can say in regard to all that is... keep reading! All of your curiosities and questions will be answered in time. :raritywink:

I've read and seen a couple of pictures on headcanon pony physiology that argues that they can be bipedal, just not as effectively as quadripedal. I've seen enough of Pinkie and others do it to consider it canon. The weapons I've seen done with and without trigger guards. Without makes the most obvious sense, and with uses the argument that they can fit their hooves in the same way they hold mugs of cider. It's all the same, and both make sense. I'm more inclined to lean towards a lack of a trigger guard, as hooves have a wider grip than fingers, ergo more stability when holding firearms.

You have good taste, my friend.

Good catch! Cheers! And thank you kindly for the compliment! Good to know I'm good at something. :rainbowlaugh:

Why, yes! Yes it is!

Excellent story, I liked this one even better than the first one! And no, not because I teared up at the bombshell chapter. :trixieshiftright:

It started out like an ordinary spec ops story. You get the briefing done, everyone gets informed, problem emerges. Rabbit hole opens, some tense moments later, rabbit hole drags in protagonist.

This rabbit hole, in many ways, is oddly fitting considering the verse that this story is set in. Celestia, for reasons subtly explained, keeps certain things a secret. Naturally, expecting Night Shade and his group to have perished would have been natural, considering the frigid cold and the conditions that we saw that they had to endure.

Her widened expression when she saw him in the prison, makes complete and utter sense by the end of the story. Her reactions to his presence, to the fact that he is alive makes that interrogation scene there all the more real.

Coincidence, maybe, maybe not, but all things considered, I am oddly enough thinking MW2-3 for whatever reason. I mean, yeah, in the end, Makarov probably was the wrong character to bring up in hindsight, but hey, during the ride, I didn't know any better. :twilightblush:

Beautiful execution, with appropriate bits of sprinkled humor to keep the story from getting bogged into a dark and woeful tale. The only complaint that I have, is when you dropped that bombshell of a conclusion in there, and left with that numbing, yet heart felt feeling in there. It contrasts greatly with how you ended the first one, and almost leaves me in the mood to write a sad fic.

Granted, you gave us that little bit with Shining and Fleet there in the end, and Luna's request to the tech experts, so I guess it wasn't all bad.

Excellent work. Time to add the next one to my read later list. :pinkiehappy:

Does that line go very similarly to that? :pinkiegasp: If so, I think I get it now.

Yeah, I didn't want to copy the entire thing, just enough to adapt it to a suitable part. I felt it was very fitting.

Interesting read. Again, thoughts on a blog post as to avoid dropping a giant comment here.

Thank you again for your thoughtful insight and commentary! I will certainly take your notes into account when editing this story and moving forward with future projects.

Thank you kindly for your kind words and continued praise! I'm just very glad and grateful to know what I write and enjoy so much is as enjoyable to the readers. I hope you continue to enjoy the rest of the series, and look forward to any and all future comments!

Fun fact: Dusk Quill loves Arma with a burning passion. :pinkiehappy:

5526879 Hu.
I never knew that...that you for the knowledge! I walk away a little bit wiser!

Loved the story man. Really captures the spirit of the "Unsung Heroes" so to speak. Will be reading the rest of the series.

Simply... wow...

The first story felt to me to be very much like the books Red Storm Rising by Tom Clancy and Larry Bond, and Red Phoenix, also authored by Larry Bond. This one felt more akin to Tom Clancy's book, Rainbow Six. Just like my favorite books written by published authors. Without in any way copying them, you have written a pair of stories that do the two authors great honor.

As incredible as these first two in this series has been, I cannot wait to begin the third story once I wake up at the crack of 1pm lol. (7am right now) (your fault! You write so damn good!)
