I'm convinced that Twilight might become an alicorn temporary but not permantly and not a princess. It's not something you can just obtain you have to earn it. As for Derpy if Hasbro really wanted to removed any evidence of her they'd be pulling down videos with her in it but they haven't yet.

Yeah...There's no reason to pull out Derpy! So many people love her and enjoy seeing her pop-up randomly...and if Twilight was an alicorn princess...I feel the series would be awkward because she can't really adventure with her friends >.<

And Derpy I think they're just giving her a break for right now to let the controversy over her die down before they put her back into cameo appearances. 1837977 Yeah it's just an example of how messed up soicety is, a couple of idiots pounce on an innocent charcater without any proof that she's mentally disabled and say she's offensive and Hasbro is forced to listen to them, yet the more obvious examples are completly ignored.
If it were up to me I'd just put a disclamier at the start of the episode about Derpy and tell the soccer moms if they still have a problem they can take it to court and tell it to the judge.
