Octavia Philharmonica was one of the most skilled classically-trained cellists of her generation. She could book entire concert halls chock full of mares and stallions from across the land to hear the somber anthems of her instrument of choice: the cello.
After the complete disaster that was the 1000th Annual Grand Galloping Gala, she found herself banned from doing that which was her life's only calling. Alone and with nopony to turn to, she finds unexpected companionship in the current patron of the Apple Family, a certain red stallion by the name of Big Macintosh.
Mad props to Scootareader for having the patience to pre-read this as I wrote it as well. In my previous fics, I had never used pre-readers. Yeah, I know. Nooooot smart.

I'm actually using a pre-reader this time, so hopefully you'll notice a dramatic increase in quality. I've recently gotten a job, so updates will be ... well, whenever I can. Expect fairly frequent ones, though.
I swear every time I see Big Macintosh with Dinner Plate eyes, He always looks like he's on amphetamines or acid. And I can totally imagine him saying this: "Holy Crap, I am freaking out!"

Dude, this needs to continue. It's so well written and intriguing! Plus, hetero Octavia ships are way too rare.
I think the exact reason she was chosen to bear the brunt of the uppercrust's ire needs to be explained in more detail. Was it because they didn't stop Pinkie when she changed the music? Was it just her or did her whole ensemble get banned as well and if not, why only her? Getting blackballed from performing in Canterlot makes for a good reason to return home, but considering all the things that went wrong in the Gala it's a bit hard to buy that only Octavia would be singled out for punishment without further detail.

Read it, don't read it - it'll be a part of the story, but not really critical to understand things.The cloppity chapter is no longer going to happen.
