After and incident with Discord, Scootaloo find herself on the other side of the galaxy fighting a war she did not wish to be in.
After the decimation of the planet she'd been staying on, Scootaloo finds herself a friend in a newly instated Spartan-IV, Faolan Grant. When things don't go as planned, however, Scootaloo quickly finds a place in the ranks of Fireteam Raven as they fight Covenant Remnant forces and stand strong against even the wishes of ONI itself.
A.N.~ This takes place after Halo 3 but before Halo 4. The idea is that this is happening during the end of the first year after John-117 is reported M.I.A. and not all Covies have quite given up yet. There will be references to Infintiy and the other Spartan-IV's every now and again.

At this point the Prophets are all dead, the main covie forces destroyed. Its no holds barred as the remnant forces attempt to gain a foothold(hoofhold, clawhold etc.) back onto the universe.
Firstly, though, note the lack of Unggoy(grunts), and the relative lack of Sangheli and Jiralhanae being mentioned together. One camp was mostly Kig-Yar and Sangheli, the other Jiralhanae and Kig-Yar. They don't like each other, but will tolerate each other in hopes of becoming 'The Great Covenant' again and exterminating the human race..
The Unggoy said screw it and went home, as they found getting along with the UNCS and Sangheli more profitable than being treated like shit by the Remnant forces. The Yanme(Drones) are something I'm not sure what to do with though.
Of course, everyone know ponies are the master race.

2169141 I plan on being cautious and sparing in my use of Thel 'Vadamee. Scootaloo saved his life back on the planet, and he is thankful for that, but he sees a drive and ambition that he doesn't find in most humans. He is, more or less, interested in her survival and what she will become.
As for the spooks. Well If you've played Halo 4 then it has a bit to do with the Didact playing with long range radio frequencies.

This is roughly a year, year and a half, but the Didact was toying with radio signals to attract Covenant remnants and such to find him and release him. Granted it took John 117 to finally manage to do it, but still.
Essentially, the Didact, while not fully released, has taken an interest in a species that naturally manipulates hardlight in their own physiology. Essentailly I'm explaining magic as hardlight, which will be explained next chapter.
But no, the Didact hasn't escaped yet, but he is trying, and he is stirring up trouble to preoccupy the humans that he sees as a minor threat.

Also, is Scootaloo ever gonna recover from the injury on her eye? Not saying to get rid of the red eye, it adds a badass feel and look; but rather have the scar on the skin barely visible and for the eye to stop leaking blood when she cries. (a bit suprise you didn't mention it when she cried at the table.)
I didn't did I? I felt that for the overall emotion of the story, noting blood oozing out of her eye would kill it a bit. As for the scar, well I do plan on it receding a bit to be thinner and have the fur come back.
As for Faolan leaving the fireteam just for love...well, lets just say that I have that situation well in hoof and ready to be taken care of. Suffice to say, things will not by all happy happy sunshine upon the return to Scootaloo's planet. (No war mind you, but more personal issues revolving around Scootaloo than anything else.)
My final note on the eye is that it is held as a badge of honour. She saved Thel 'Vadamee and gained that injury, and she doesn't want to give that up, I'll go more into why in the story later thought, and there is a sequel planned already.
