Pretty good so far.
The story is pretty great. A few odds and ends here and there. My only question is, they re established the onyx guard? I know they were pretty much wiped out after the war but didn't think they put training for them after a while. Besides, most of them were assholes.

Its good, but I suggest getting a pre-reader.
Some of the paragraphs were structured in an awkward way that broke the flow of the story.
Aside from that, there were just minor grammar mistakes and such.
Overall a very good story so far.

I heard the character's voices in my head as I read this. You caught my interest for this
there were a few errors, but none that really compromised the structure of the story. Being a Gears fan, I have high hopes for this

It is really good so far but one the thing that felt out of place was Marcus's dialog. He is more of a silent character and even when he does speak his sentences are short and simple. I suggest implementing these changes to him, but that;s just me. Still, a good first chapter though!

Thinking about it, Twilight Sparkle is a hilarious name.
Although now she would be called Princess Sparkle which causes me to gasp for breath.
Interpretation- cole will use his persuasion skills to get them to trust them, guards attacks, they kick their asses because I don't know cog beating the crap out of royal guards is funn, celestia comes goes saying wtf, where, when, how shit, then they got to canter lot. Then blue blood see them and Baird makes a nice leather jacket out of blue pillow and then they go to war with changelings. That all I got so far with what MIGHT happen.
Dammit I hate spelling corrections.
Surprisingly good. Cole and Baird's scene was very well executed, both of them seemed very much in character.

Sadly I am not worthy of reading this, for I am a PS3 gamer, thus I had little to no contact with the game whatsoever.
2439636 You have to understand that while we could mean no harm, our appearence alone is terryfing to them. Zecora was different, she was similar in appearence and aside from ponyville Zebras were already well known. In our case, we look like tall biped monsters wearing gruff and if not dirty but dark armor. Our weapons are alien to them and the chainsaws or bayonet on the end would without a doubt inspire fear. Our skin color is diverse and we came in with metal behemoths. Basically in a nutshell:
Baird: Do you think they know what we're up to?
Marcus: Well we're not here to sell cookies.
Basically our reaction would be the same if a deadly looking species came to our world. Difference being is that we would hold fire until we know what we're dealing. The more you know.

now you see, that's a major problem. some people may be genuinely interested in this fic but are put off by not knowing what is what because they haven't played the games. because of this, 2443949's comment holds more relevance; the humans are awesome because they have unexplained tech that (for the most part) can keep coming from nowhere. It just turns into a bad case of 'inside fic' cause you have to play the games to get a sense of their limitations, abilities, etc.
I have not read the fic yet so I have no idea how badly the tech is explained, but I have been exposed to the games (mainly GoW 3) so I know what to expect. Off to read I suppose
