Puppeh' goodwill tour! Thank you for the nice comment, sorry for the huge delay in the reply but mime is a bad pony (he doesn't even feel bad, can you believe it!?)
Yes, the talent and consistency of the community never ceases to amaze me. It really is a fictional world whose characters and malleability facilitates all sorts of successful genres of writing.
And yeah, Background Pony was a slow burn for me. There's only so much I could take at once; it's really heavy material.
I managed to burn through Fallout Equestria in a week, though.
I'll be sure to check out that vault as well, thank you! And I don't suppose there's such a thing as too much writing around here Perhaps some day I'll try and write my own fic!
I am glad you appreciate it! Let me tell you you have some tasteful friends then. And it's amazing how a simple cartoon show attracted so many skilled writers, who are capable of producing literature of such high caliber... The show's fantastic world opens up countless doors for written fiction.
I find it funny how you have read some of the largest fanfics already. I am also in the process of reading that phenomenal Background Pony...very, very slowly...
Also, if you don't know about it yet, be sure to check out RBDash47'sPony Fiction Vault. It is some sort of Hall of Fame where he adds an exemplary story every Friday i.e. it features the fandom's best stories & authors. I probably wrote too much didn't I? Ah well, happpy reading (and writing, why not)!
473109 Oh man, thank you for the welcome! Believe me, you just made my decision to join the site very worthwhile.
I'll be sure to check out some of those stories. The names of several are familiar thanks to some time spent with fellow fandom members at my university who are pretty deep into the community's literature.
But it's great to have some more insight from you! I've gravitated toward really long and character-driven fics in the past (Read Background Pony, Fallout: Equestria, and Project Horizons in a row, which dominated my free time for months hehe) so I haven't explored a variety of stories just yet. But summer's almost here, and now it's time to experiment.
I was led here by your comment on My Little Dashie. I agreed with it wholeheartedly and as a matter of fact it happens to be the first ponyfic I read too. I also joined the fandom around July like you did, heh. I thought this was an interesting coincidence, so I decided to greet/welcome you personally, like people tend to do to newcomers around here.
So anyway, if you are interested in reading some of the fandom's great ponyfics, I've got plenty recommendations in my user page. You are free to come take a look!
