I did not expect this, but... new writings! · 1:00pm Oct 16th, 2018
It so happens that I just wrote and published another little bit of ponyfic: Starlight Glimmer vs. ERS Scammers.
Hi! I'm Lurks-no-More: a pony writer, RPG player, SF and fantasy fan, and a general nerd. I hope you enjoy my stories!
It so happens that I just wrote and published another little bit of ponyfic: Starlight Glimmer vs. ERS Scammers.
To any and all D&D and Pathfinder players and other fans of tabletop RPGs: Ponyfinder is currently up on Bundle of Holding!
It’s USD 12.95 for the corebook, bestiary and three adventures. And if you offer more than the level-up threshold (USD 20.55 at the time I posted this), you also get three supplements and another adventure.
The first ever Worldcon in Finland is over, and I'm making a note here: a huge success!
The nominees for 2017 Hugo Awards, presented this summer at Worldcon 75, in Helsinki, have been revealed!
Here's the official announcement video, from Worldcon 75's Youtube channel:
And if you prefer to get it all in a text format, you can go check it out at Tor's website, here:
Here is something weird and wonderful for all fans of horse (magical or otherwise), fantasy RPGs (especially Exalted), and martial arts: the Hidden Horse style for Exalted 3e, by Jenna Moran, an author and a RPG writer famous for her work on games like Nobilis,
As the title says, I've been going through my favorite stories, and re-reading many of them. There are a few where I honestly can't remember why I faved them; they clearly spoke to me at the time, but now, possibly years later, I don't know why or what they meant to me. (It's not as if they're bad stories, generally, just ones that don't amuse or impress or touch me any more.)
I think I just got smacked on the face with the Clue By Four of Inspiration +2. Because I've got this idea for a slightly Halloweenish romance-slash-adventure story, featuring Davenport of all ponies, that keeps filling up my imagination and diverting all the other stuff.
So... perhaps, just perhaps, there might be a new story from me for the Halloween!
Here's something I wrote a few months ago, and posted in the World Building group. Decided to share it here, too, in the hopes that it will sooner or later be Jossed by a proper zebra episode, and it would be nice if more people saw it before that.
Onwards to Zebrica, then!
I think it's time to face the facts: I'm not writing ponyfic any more.
Not because I've lost my interest in ponies, or moved on, or anything! I just don't have anything to write. S5 was a lot of fun, and packed with possibility; now, we're going to be getting S6 sooner or later. There are those articulated action pony figures at long last, complete with a giant armored Spike -- and I don't have a single idea for a story. Not even one of those 300-word semi-drabbles I used to tinker with.
Dear readers, how often does this happen to you?
I wanted to re-read a blog post by one of the fine, clever, eloquent writers of FIMfiction that I follow. Unfortunately, I couldn't remember who, exactly, had written the post I was looking for. It wasn't so idiosyncratic that I could easily pin it to a particular writer. So there was nothing to do but start checking the recent-ish blog posts of a number of authors, starting with the ones I thought as most likely.
