UK Ponycon 2019 Part 4 · 9:21pm Nov 4th, 2019
Three weeks have now passed since UK Ponycon 2019 ended. So it's about time I got this over with!:
As well as reading and favouriting stories, I use this account for occasional blogs.

UK Ponycon is fading into distant memory by this point, with regular pony meets and other real-life stuff taking over again. But I started these write ups (perhaps foolishly), so by the law of Unicornia I’m contractually obligated to finish them. I’m typing this on my phone on the train, which isn’t ideal. If only I had a fancy laptop like the chap sitting next to me.
Part 2: Sleep Deprivation, Plushiecon and Gongs
I haven't felt up to doing pretty much anything the last couple of days, thanks to illness. But today, after a spot of hoovering (such is the glamour of life here), I suddenly found some energy. So I'm churning this out while I can! Picking up where I left off:
Part 1: Subterranean Nottingham
As I sit here typing, I'm just getting over a wonderful stomach bug that I somehow picked up as part of my UK Ponycon haul . Even though I'd much rather be healthy enough to be back at work, this has at least allowed me to stay in the Ponycon headspace a little longer. And now my energy is coming back, I'm gonna give this write-up a go. Even if it's probably like the 4th con report you're reading.
Right. So, this blog's so late that BronyScot has almost happened already. OK, I've been busy alright! I've only had 1 free weekend out of the last 5 (all my own doing, of course). Better late than never though, eh? You can't get rid of me that easily.
Right. Um, where was I? Oh yeah.
So after the Cosplay competition had ended, I went down and met back up with a few lingering Custard members. We agreed that a karaoke session was imminent, and made sure that we knew exactly when it started. A few of us then wandered back towards the vendor hall for more shopping. I think it's about this stage that I visited the official merch stall to pick up my exclusive figure and a few other bits.
The day started with a 6:45 alarm. Not something I'd want to do every Saturday, but it was totally gonna be worth it this time. I soon had breakfast on the go, using my trusty UKPC 2017 mug for my cuppa, and had a check on Twitter. Ponies were already up and about in Nottingham too! I couldn't wait to join up with them. There was some light drizzle in the air, so I donned my waterproof for the walk to the station.
I wrote some blogs detailing my experience at UK Ponycon 2016 (Leeds), and also some blogs about my trip to Bronycon last year. It's about time I did some more of these!
What do I call you? I'm known as Oilyvalves and/or technoandrew, hence I'm terrible at thinking up usernames. Most people just call me Andrew.
What will you look like? Tall, blonde, with a pony themed shirt. Often can be observed carrying a plushie too.
Who will you be with? You. And everyone. Although it's inevitable I'll gravitate towards 'team custard' at some point.
Oh yes, and my LEGO horse will be there too.
No convention retrospective blog would be complete without a run-down of the magnificent pony-related goodies I laid my hands on! So in this final part I'll be going through what I bought or acquired during my Bronycon trip.
