A few days after the restoration of magic, Sunny Starscout accepts an invitation to spend the night at La Villa Izzy following a visit to the newly livened Bridlewood. But while Sunny came prepared to spend the night on the floor, Izzy won't have it. Her bed is big, and she's never shared it with anyone before, and if there's room enough for both, then why should Sunny have to sleep anywhere else?

Unfortunately for Sunny, Izzy's not the soundest sleeper. Fortunately for Izzy, Sunny's there.

Sunset Shimmer was a pony that always had her destiny in her control… but that was before. Now, trapped for months in a world where she no longer has magic, no longer has a plan and no longer even has her own body, she's lost. She found an unexpected lifeline, however, when she showed up at the Crumbles/Flanks residence, desperate for help, and formed a close bond with a human around her own age, Rarity.

Having lived together for several months, Rarity has grown to consider Sunset a sister, even as Sunset feels hesitant about the moniker. Shortly before the start of the school year, Rarity brings Sunset along on an annual camping trip, hosted by Applejack and Big Mac, hoping to better acquaint Sunset with her friends. But one morning, Rarity awakes to find Sunset, sleepless and distraught, struggling with concerns and fears she doesn't understand... as the specter of destiny continues to loom large in the former unicorn's mind.

And it's up to Rarity to provide some much-needed comfort.

Set in an alternate universe in which the timeline diverges after Sunset leaves Equestria. This story also deviates from the depiction of Sunset's past as portrayed in the comic The Fall of Sunset Shimmer. Chronologically, it takes place after the events of The Final Conversation, though reading that story is not a requirement.

Pre-read by The Sleepless Beholder and Ninjadeadbeard. Cover art by Harwick. Originally written for the Bean's Writing Group prompt "Let's Go Camping".

Minor Note: My stories generally treat Canterlot High School as a 7-12 school to justify the Cutie Mark Crusaders/Canterlot Movie Club being there in the main films. Keep that in mind if you notice some odd-looking age math in there; at the time of the story, Rarity and Sunset are about to start 9th grade (freshman year).

Wallflower Blush is a fan of horror. It's not something that's ever really come up around her friends, Roseluck and Muffins, even after nearly a year of being nearly inseparable. But when the three girls visit the Equestria Land theme park, Wallflower is very excited to ride the park's signature scary ride, Nightmare Moon's Haunted Castle. She doesn't think it'll be too bad, but Roseluck, who's a little bit very terrified of scary stuff, has her doubts... though Muffins seems down for it.

A standalone spinoff story from Shaking Off Bad Memories, which also makes it part of my shared "Conversations-verse" continuity (see my main page; you don't need to have read any of the other stories for this). Pre-read by The Sleepless Beholder. Originally written for the Bean's Writing Group prompt "Derpy's Night on the Town".

Years ago, Princess Twilight Sparkle of Equestria helped show a group of humans the magic of friendship, and they've never forgotten how much it meant to them. Since then, Twilight has continued to return to visit her friends in their world, and even as her coronation looms large on the horizon, they'd been confident things would work out.

But when a serious malfunction renders the device keeping the portal open useless and seemingly irreparable, Princess Twilight is left struggling to come up with a solution, or even answers. As the possibility that they might never see their old friend in person again grows, the Rainbooms decide to send a series of letters to the Princess, expressing their personal gratitude for the influence she's had in their lives, well-wishes for her rule in Equestria and cautious optimism for the future.

As it turns out, having a high frequency of traumatizing magical crises on campus tends to upset the PTA, and now Principal Celestia has landed firmly in their crosshairs. After the fiasco at the Friendship Games, Superintendent Neighsay has had enough and forces Celestia into administrative leave, awaiting review. When the two school officials meet face to face, though, Celestia is ready to show that she's not giving up her position without a fight—and that she can hold her own in the face of Neighsay's wrath.

Don't have time to invest in a long story? Or even a one-shot? Never fear! EileenSaysHi is here to save the day with their collection of entries from Loganberry's Flashfic group, which hosts the monthly Flashfic150 competition! I post a new entry every month; check out the group if you want to read new entries while they're still in competition.

This fic serves as a repository of past entries, beginning with December 2021. As you can see from the chapter names below, each contest is built around a prompt. In general, these are all unrelated stories, unless otherwise specified in Author's Notes. If a story won an honor, I will describe that in the author's notes.

The majority of entries are Equestria Girls stories, with a few FiM and G5 entries mixed in. All entries are either E- or T-rated.

Enjoy! New entries added at the end of each competition.

Featured in 2023 (28 August and 29 December) and 2024 (27 February and 29 April)!

As the crowd cheers for the final event of the Friendship Games, Sunset sees the strange new Twilight Sparkle clutching her magical amulet. When she realizes exactly what Twilight intends to do with it, a gigantic train of emotions and memories hits her all at once as she desperately races to stop her -- even though she knows she's already too late.

Written from Sunset's POV in second-person. Violence tag for graphic description of physical transformation.

Written for Bicyclette's "A Thousand Words" contest and received Honorable Mention distinction!

It's never good to have a date go wrong. It's even worse when it's the fourth in a row, and Sunset Shimmer can't help but feel down about her romantic prospects at this point. When she accepts an offer from Applejack and Pinkie Pie to go on an ice cream outing with them, she can't help but wonder how the happy couple has made things work so well between them. But when she asks, they're more than willing to share some of the details.

Runner-up in Bicyclette's ApplePie contest! Sex tag refers to past-tense references to a sexual encounter.

Takes place senior year, post-Holidays Unwrapped but pre-graduation (April-ish?).

Thanks to Krack-Fic Kai, RDT, The Sleepless Beholder and Tipper for pre-reading!

When Applejack left home to go back to college after winter break, Winona seemed as happy and healthy as ever. Tragically, just weeks later, Applejack learns her family's beloved dog had passed away in her sleep, years earlier than anyone would have expected. Shocked and grief-stricken, she reaches out to one of the only friends she knows who's lost a personal pet before—Twilight Sparkle, many miles away at her own school. Will video chat be enough for them to provide each other with the comfort they need?

All death is past-tense and there are no violent descriptions. Applejack and Twilight are the only characters who appear; all others tagged are discussed only (though in significant detail).

A standalone entry in my "Conversations-verse" continuity, about six weeks after the epilogue of "Sunset and Twilight's Winter Holidate". Contains references to SciSet and RariJack, though neither are a significant focus. Preread by FanOfMostEverything and Mockingbirb.

It's the autumn of the girls' senior year, two (very eventful) years since the last time Sunset Shimmer had any aspirations at becoming Princess of the Fall Formal (and three years since she actually won). But it seems the title isn't done with her yet, as Trixie, taking a shot at winning the coveted crown, has now sought out her aid -- by asking her to be her date to the dance.

And, in a move that surprised even herself, Sunset said yes.

But as the two prepare to head to the dance, Sunset can't help but wonder if Trixie, whom she'd grown to consider a genuine friend in the months since the Memory Stone crisis, had more on her mind than Sunset's clout in asking for her hand at the dance -- and whether she herself might have any such feelings as well.

Winner of the Sunset Shimmer x EQG Villain "Second Chances" Contest (story folder here)! Pre-read by The Sleepless Beholder.

Featured from 8-10 April 2022!

Takes place senior year, two years after the events of Equestria Girls (sophomore Fall Formal), five months after Forgotten Friendship (late junior year) and in-between Sunset's Backstage Pass and Holidays Unwrapped.
