Season 6 begins! · 6:12pm March 17th
Season 6 of My Little Pony: When Friendship Shimmers - Reboot has begun!
And yeah, I started it off with a huge banger of an opening. Because Season 6 is going to have an early storm king encounter. Note that this won't change anything for season 7 outside of some of the young six being introduced a lot earlier then in cannon, them getting to know one another sooner, and there being two replacement episodes for some of the season 7 stuff.
See, with the When Friendship Shimmers universe, I will removing two episodes from the initail season 7 and replace one with Spotlight Tales for Starswirl the Bearded and Somnambula. I found it a disgrace that neither pillar didn't originally get their own spotlight tale like Flash Magnus, Rockhoof, and Mistmane did. While Mage Meadowbrook also didn't get a spotlight tale, there was still that episode on swamp fever where Fluttershy got to use Mage Meadowbrook's mask to get the Flash Bee honey and thus cure Swamp Fever in the current day like how Mage Meadowbrook did in her time.
And if your counting, that means that of the six pillars, the only one who gets shafted truly is Somnambula. It was long-standing before the season 7 finale how much Twilight sees Starswirl the Bearded as an idol, so there wasn't much need to shoehorn in a tale in regard to him I suppose. But this means that there really is no reason why Pinkie Pie gets connected to Somnambula of all characters outside of process of elimination. Hence why replacing a season 7 episode with Twilight giving a spotlight tale to show why she idolizes Starswirl the Bearded so much (aiming for one of them to be the Pony Point of View episode as seriously, this episode was just dumb and deserves to be erased) and thus give further context as to why she wouldn't argue against Starswirl the Bearded so that that moment doesn't come too much out of left field like it does in the original timeline. Plus, this way, I can have Pinkie Pie give out a spotlight tale on Somnambula as a pony she has interest in researching and shares a tale she learnt while researching the pony thus giving a much stronger connectiong between Pinkie Pie and Somnambula rather then it being just because there was no-pony left since Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity gave spotlight tales of Rookhoof, Flash Magnus, and Mistmane respectively in the original timeline.
I also want to have the other replacement episode be about Sunset discovering documents & facts about a pony known as Stygian, with while it being obvious to the reader that will be important since as we all know, Stygian became The Pony of Shadows, it will help set up the fact that Stygian became The Pony of Shadows that much better since it'll make for that reveal to have more impact since Sunset will know who Stygian is, but not the full details of why he became The Pony of Shadows allowing her Element of Empathy to come in clutch when Stygian basically bears his soul to Twilight & Starlight with every pony else overhearing this confession.
I'm hoping to have one of the episodes that'll be replaced to be "Pony P.O.V." for the reasons I mentioned earlier. As I've already stated, I never liked this episode, and think it deserves a full on replacement. I'm hoping to replace it with the Spotlight Tales of Starswirl the Bearded and Somnambula so they don't get left out of the Pillar fun. But I could also see "Pony P.O.V." getting replaced with the Sunset discovering Stygian episode instead. Depends on when "Pony P.O.V." takes place to be honest.
