But you can see the comic here anyway:)
I'm really tired (work is hectic which is why you haven't seen much of me) so I won't be writing a step by step account of all the things I liked about the comic (plenty of funny moments) except to say the most touching part of this comic for me was it's pretty obvious Discord sees Fluttershy and the CMCs as some kind of surrogate family.
"I feel sorry for them. They care about me."
That's devastating. He feels like he doesn't deserve to be loved.
Also it's so OBVIOUS Discord loves them. He's not the type to admit that he loves anyone, because that would leave him to be vulnerable. He even says as much: "It makes me weak."
But Luna carefully placates him and uses the word "care" in place of "love" because Discord is a big baby.
And then: "I care what happens to them. I care about how they feel about me." Honestly, if that's not love I don't know what is.
I know people are screaming over the "Fluttershy and the kids" line, but I immediately thought he meant the CMCs when I read that line, not biological kids. What I don't understand is why this disappoints people- family doesn't have to be biological and I've always seen Fluttershy and Discord as the cool auntie and uncle rather than parents. At any rate, Discord has a surrogate family (the Fluttershy part of it can be interpreted as platonic or romantic) and I personally interpret it as he's in love with her and thinks of the kiddies as his surrogate nieces.
How is that disappointing? IT'S ADORABLE
I loved this comic so much! Tinycord, the feels, that Rarity scene to! Great all around!

The Rarity scene made me crack up. An obvious spoof of "Project Runway."
"I'm not here to make friends."
They always say that!
I wasn't disappointed at all, and I immediately thought of the CMC too! I just find the whole surrogate family thing adorable enough that I'm surprised I haven't melted through the floor.
Oh man, people are disappointed cause of that? The fools. That ending was great, because not only does Discord say he cares, but I do imagine he sees them as a family he never really had. Totally sappy, but it's nice to see the comic sort of go into detail about something I, and others, have been curious about.
sometimes I think the soundtrack to Discord's life is Nine Inch Nails, except half the songs are played as polkas by Weird Al. :-)
But seriously, that "I feel sorry for them because they care about me and I am definitely going to screw up and make them all hate me" thing is, like, Trent Reznor's thing. (Amusingly enough I have a professional novel I'm working on where a character based on Q has a character based on Trent Reznor as a sidekick, though the Q character is way too mature to be Discord. More similar to, what if Q actually cared about something badly enough to be serious about dealing with it?)
I very much enjoyed the comic, though I gotta wonder... why does Discord have nightmares based on Office Space? I wouldn't have thought he'd have any familiarity with what a soul-crushing 9-to-5 job was like. Dude, exactly what were you doing in those 1000 years you were trapped in a statue? Apparently he somehow managed to tune in to TV on Earth?

Ha! I have absolutely no problem with Discord channeling Trent Reznor (who is another person I adore, though I can't help but always hear a certain lyric as "I think I used to have a porpoise"). Heck, that's one of the reasons why so many of my Discord stories have titles or chapters named after NIN songs- he does fit a lot of them.
I do like the idea of the added polka though.
My friend mentioned Office Space when he read the comic but I have no familiarity with the show so that was lost on me.
Apparently he somehow managed to tune in to TV on Earth?
He also seems to watch far too much reality TV. DON'T LET THEM SUCK YOU IN, DISCORD
3384835 This comic really makes me wonder if a bunch of ponies have been trying to go into business with Discord, and making pitches to him on how he can use his powers to get rich. It looks like he's smart enough to know that won't end well, and why.

I'm pretty sure all sorts of ponies through the ages have tried to use Discord. Needy + extreme power=exploitable.
Of course, it's a really DUMB thing for ANYONE to attempt.
3385204 I don't know if I would assume they're trying to exploit him, per se. It's Discord's dream, but they don't seem malevolent or deceptive, just confusing and boring. I think Discord's fear isn't that Discord Inc. would destroy Equestria, it's that such an organization would make his life boring and repetitive, like in the Office Space dream. Discord Inc. might destroy Equestria, mind you, I just don't think that's what Discord is most afraid of.
About the "Fluttershy and the kids" thing: I personally like to imagine that, whether it's a platonic or romantic situation, Discord jokes about him and Flutters like they're an old married couple. Like, she won't let him do something stupid, and he says "I'm divorcing you". So I interpreted that in a different way than most. But I can still see him referring to the CMC; either way, It was cute as hell.
Also, I picked up on Luna calling it "care" too. She didn't want to derail the conversation by saying "love" again, even though she knows that's what it is, no matter what kind it may be.

I didn't strictly mean the business ponies. I meant in general. Tirek used him pretty easily, and I imagine it's a pattern he's probably gone through a lot because he's so needy.

hehe I can hear him saying this, and Fluttershy would roll her eyes at him.
