Possible spoliers for the comic
So, this is something that is has confused me for a while. That being the continuity with the MLP comics. At first, I went with the idea that while the events of the show are canon to the comics, the comics aren't canon to the show. For example, in the comics, Sombra has been reformed, whilst in the show, he was still evil. This wouldn't be a big deal until I saw this.
It seems that all of the unreformed villains are returning for one last showdown. It showing the villains from both the show and the comics. However, some of them, like Ahuizotl, seems to throw a wrench in the gears. Say what you want about his reformation, but you have to admit it happened. Having him being a part of the villain's team raises too many questions.
Another thing I want to know is if the season 10 comics are canon to the show. I want to know this because some events forced me to rework some of my planned stories, like Fancy for Three. I don't want to add an alternate universe tag for nothing, so I want to know what is going on here. I'm genuinely confused.
Hm...sometimes the comic cover art doesn't necessarily relate to what the issue itself is about. For example, a version of Issue 62's cover is of the main cast and others telling a secret to each other that eventually gets back to Shining, who we assume the secret was about. However, the actual story within the comic is a continuation of the previous comic, which is about the "Convocation of Creatures"
The comics aren’t canon. If they were, they wouldn’t reference previous comics that didn’t age well because of the show retconning or contradicting them.
This is exactly why I’m hoping to pitch my sequel series to “Daring Doubt” to both Hasbro and eOne rather than make my stories into fanfics.

He is one of the things that makes that comics' continuity confusing. Either he had a reformation (which could've been handled better) or he didn't. You can't go back and forth.

Whether this would be of interest to you is something I don’t know, but for quite a long time…I’ve been fascinated by the prospect of how many people will take advantage of another in some way, deceiving them in order to accomplish a secret motive. That was the basis behind “A Moment of Truth”, really. It’s something that also happens in real life too.

Maybe a better way that story could’ve gone is if ahuizotl pretended to be reformed if he was working with Grogor. Though there would have to be work around that honesty idol thing (I don’t remember what it’s called) and probably rewrite that I was actually grogar, not discord.

In my story, I came up with an artifact that managed to help Ahuizotl not be affected by the Truth Talisman. To kind of bend the rules a bit.

Ooh, that’s clever.

Thank you.
Ohh that's awesome to the villains of mlp
Pretty sure it's just a seasonal cover.
