Celestia stretched her wings wide and high, drawing my attention at once.
Her wings were magnificent.
Wide, long, strong and shining white. The edges of her feathers almost glittered in the midday sunshine. Her wings folded again and I looked to her, finding her regarding me in turn, a small smile on her muzzle.
She knew exactly my reaction to that and I knew very well that she did it to take my thoughts off things.
Of course, that didn’t mean it didn’t work.
“Well?” I asked, shifting my own and very nice, if less impressive wings.
Celestia sighed softly, “It’s very difficult, Page,” she said and continued walking along next to me, “I have discussed the matter with my sister, but before we say anything, we need to do more research.”
I frowned up at her, “Buck that. It’s about time you stop treating me like a little colt, Sunshine. Tell me what’s going on.”
She stopped walking, her ears drooping slightly, “...I’m sorry, Page. I did not mean to make you feel like we were, but it’s a complicated matter and you have so much to think of already.”
I stopped as well, turning to face her, raising my head to look up at her, “Let me worry about that. I love you, Celestia. I will marry you. You need to tell me things.”
Celestia lowered her head, her horn touching mine softly before her nose bumped mine gently, her eyes meeting mine, “I love you as well, my beautiful bat,” she said softly, “I am so used to not having somepony to talk to. I am sorry.”
Giving her a soft kiss, I then brushed my horn against hers, “Sunshine, you are not alone anymore. We’re all here for you and none of us are going anywhere.”
Sitting down, her forelegs and wings both slipped around me, pulling me close and I leaned against her sunwarm coat.
Her soft warm muzzle brushed my ear and I sighed softly against her.
“It has been years,” she admitted quietly, “But I am still unused to it. I am still relearning, Page. I was alone for a long time.”
I glanced up at her and her lips brushed mine before she continued,
“I don’t know if Luna has discussed it with you,” she said and nuzzled softly, “But after our long talk, once you left Canterlot we started to work out a better way for us to share our rule. The way we were, it was almost the same as we had before my sisters… no, before I banished my sister,” she said quietly but firmly, “I was wrong. We fell into that pattern again and I will never do that again.”
“Celestia,” I said and frowned slightly, “That won’t happen again.”
“It won’t,” she agreed, “I’m making sure of it. We’re still working out details,” she then admitted and brushed a hoof along my back, “We’re trying to divide things equally. Court, public appearances. The castle is going to be a lot more of a 24 hour thing, with just as much activity during the day as the night. Instead of my sister holding court a few times a week and otherwise mostly working on paperwork.”
I couldn’t help but smile, “I think my wife would like that. But that’s going to be a real change for you both. A lot to get used to.”
Celestia smiled a bit, “It very much is,” she admitted, “For us both.”
I nodded and touched my nose to hers, “I think that’s good for both of you,” I admitted, “You had too much resting on your back and my wife deserves more attention than she was getting.”
“She does,” Celestia agreed with a smile, “She very much does. But we’re going slow with it, I think it may be a bit much as well.”
“It would be,” I admitted, “Luna is not used to that sort of attention. I wish she had told me, I could have come visit an-”
“Which is why we didn’t,” Celestia said and rubbed her cheek against the top of my head, “Because you would have wanted to help and you have so much on your mind already.”
I shifted to meet her eyes again, “I think we’re back to ‘I’m neither made of glass or a little colt’ again. Talk to me, Sunshine. And I’ll have this talk with my wife later as well.”
She sighed softly and touched her horn to mine, “I never thought I’d see the day.”
“Day of what?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.
“The day when I agreed with the ponies that were against the reforms my sister and I were pushing for during the formation of Equestria,” she said, “They said letting stallions talk back or have opinions would be trouble, but did I list-eep!”
I pounced, pushing her onto her back on the grass and she landed on her back, laughing as I pinned her down, my hooves on her chest, “Wench!”
Celestia laughed and smiled up at me, laying back, wings stretching out to the side on the soft green grass, “All in all,” she said, “I think I’m pretty happy with the result.”
I shifted to lay down against her, resting my chin on her chest, “I bet you do. Is this before or after you made sure to put your harem into law?”
“Oh, after. Less important after all.”
I grinned, “I bet it was,” I said and scooted up a bit to bump my nose against hers, “And I’m sure surrounding yourself with an all stallion guard was all about promoting equal rights.”
Her cheeks actually turned slightly red.
I smirked, “Thought so, naughty filly.”
She rolled us easily, pinning me beneath her as her wings raised high, one hoof on my chest, “Is that anyway to talk to your Princess?”
“My apologies, your highness,” I said and stretched out a bit beneath her, “How may I apologize for my actions, my princess?”
Celestia smiled, nosing down along my neck, making my hooves curl slightly, “I may have some ideas, my beautiful bat…”
It wasn’t until well after I woke up that I realized she had not actually answered my question.
Loving both the interaction and the story. May I have more, please?
C'mon Page. You know Celestia can manipulate your view of questions with well placed words and actions to get you trotting to her tune when she wants to.
Loving the interactions between page and celestia
Celestia is a master of distraction (by lewd).
Page: I'm at your service Princes--WOAH! Why did the dream shift to the Nocturnis Bathhouse?
Celestia: Oh my! You are certainly setting the mood. This will do nicely. Has my sweet stallion been feeling both bratty and...dirty?
Page: I should REALLY question the dream shift...but priorities! But Sunshine! I like being dirty.
Celestia: Well I guess I have to fix that...
...MEANWHILE A CERTAIN DRACONEQUUS AND COMMENT SECTION IS FINALLY GETTING THAT BATHHOUSE SCENE...
The comment section writing program is a bitch...
It crashed and take half a hour away from stuff I wrote down...
It was so epic...
Beginning of chapter Celestia: Gonna getchu.
Blank Page: I c wat ur doin.
End of chapter Celestia: Gottem.
Blank Page: Wait what no. (worth it tho)
She played him hard, getting him to try out-alluring her so much that he still fell for her misdirection.
Also...
You may take all of my "yes".
Theirs is such a fascinating relationship, what with all the things that they both know with such certainty that they don't have to say it but that they say anyway.

Nice
She played him like a fiddle.
Nobody for a second thought that those guards could accomplish any actual guarding. It's not even about competence, it's the simple fact that a threat to Celestia is by definition well out of any mortal's league.

Realistic that, they are to stall a enemy or distract them if the are Alicorn level or near it.
Personally I think a defensive posture is most likely.
I depicted Celestia as solar sledgehammer in my stories and she showed that heat is indeed her element, when a Griffon ambassador punched Blank Page and Celestia accidentally melted her Tiara and neck piece in anger.
an old friend
a simple one-shot related to the fanfic
You're sitting in the co-pilot's seat, while your two operation partners are preparing the cameras. You're writing excitedly on a piece of paper. The organization had its eye on you since that incident in your hometown. You finish writing and lift your gaze to the outside, looking at the cloudy sky over a meadow with barely any trees or people. But your mind is recounting your life, feeling as if a scientist had found the cure for a serious disease. But above all, you remember the day you and him met - brothers from different mothers, united by fate, or at least that's how you felt when it came to remembering it. But soon after, a melancholic sigh escapes you, bringing back that fateful day, that inexplicable lightning storm that caused chaos and left one person missing - your non-blood brother, your friend.
"Jack," a nerdy and feminine voice breaks through your thoughts, bringing you back to the present. "Do you have your calculations for the storm?"
You turn to see through her glasses and hair resembling a river of blood. "Uh... yes, here," you say, returning to reality and holding up the papers with one hand. "As far as I can predict, this would pass through this field, and where we are would be a 'safe zone'." You turn to give a smile, pressing your lips together.
She sighs. "Okay, now get out. Chet will be glad not to have to drive in the middle of a tornado that even God doesn't know is inside." She says authoritatively, grabbing another camera and disappearing from your field of view.
You step out of the van, a fairly large one for an average human. It's pale white with a symbol of four black lines vertically and a fifth one crossing through them. Your shoes hit the ground as the typical smell of rain starts to permeate the air.
"Here you are, Doc," says the man, bulkier than you, with short hair, as he adjusts machinery that's not your concern, but your companion's. "I'm glad we don't have to go any further. I hope you haven't made a mistake. I don't know what would happen if that thing hits us," he says stoically.
You shrug slightly. "In these long years, I've theorized that it could be anything. We could end up on another planet, in an alternate world where the Germans won the Second World War, or who knows," you chuckle at that forced reference that you know only you understand. Then you sigh, "I've waited for this for a long time," your eyes gaze at the horizon.
"And what kind of advancements do you suggest this could imply?"
"Too many, if the pattern that the foundation collected when it happened for the first time repeats itself," the mental image of that day appears, causing you to pause and a feeling of sadness to spread across your face. "It might just be a predetermined place. If what we find is something else, where this 'exchange of goods' arises varies depending on the storm."
You look again at your stoic companion, whose gaze is fixed on you. "Look," he pauses, "I know it's none of my business, but this is very personal for you..."
"The storm?" You try to conceal your emotions, shifting from sadness to a vague attempt at appearing cheerful.
"Yes..."
You look down, sighing. "A friend of mine, more than a friend, you know what I mean, you military types tend to bond quite a lot... he disappeared in the middle of the storm, it was chaos." You look at the cloudy sky. "I want to believe he didn't die, but they're just fairy tales that emerge in that mass of flesh inside my skull..."
Silence hangs in the air for a while.
"Ready?" The glasses-wearing girl interjects between you two. "The foundation might give us something for this," she says excitedly, and you nod with equal enthusiasm.
"Alright, let's do this," you say, excitement in your voice.
xxxxxxx
Everything had gone horribly wrong according to your calculations. Not only did you misjudge where the anomalous tornado would pass, but you and your three companions were trapped inside the van. They were both angry with you, though they didn't express it, but you couldn't care less. You couldn't record anything for your study, which was the worst part.
Cornered on your side of the van, you rest your arms, on the verge of tears due to frustration...
"At least we can say something, right, Doc?" your companion asks. "Don't get discouraged, another one will come in a few years, won't it?"
"Not at all," you shake your head in denial. "There's no pattern yet for this to happen frequently. It must be a miracle according to my calculations... it's now," you mutter the last part quietly. You glance at one of your companion's cameras and grab one. It was small, like those from 2010, but the plastic texture told a different story.
"It's quite new, exclusive for those who provide visual material to the foundation, very practical," your companion says... your eyes don't leave the device.
"Maybe..." you murmur as something crosses your mind. Your companion notices your thoughts, your face betraying you. She knows you well. "Jack, don't."
You look at her and chuckle a bit. You weren't going to let this chance to find out what happened to your best friend pass by for another date that might never come again. "Jack, yes," you say as you slam your body against the van doors, camera still in hand. Your body collides with the mud, staining your scientific clothing. You curse briefly as you hear your two companions' desperate pleas. You ignore them as you raise the camera, preparing it swiftly, foolish of you not to go back inside.
You position yourself at a good angle, a few meters away. Your companions haven't pulled you back into the vehicle yet because they knew it was dangerous. You knew it was doubly so, but you didn't care. You were going to have material...
"Jack, for the last time, get your damn self in here!"
... Everything suddenly went dark. Someone turned off the light. You couldn't see, hear, or feel anything...
// I did it in a short time, I hope it's not horrible
Nice little scene between Page and Celestia. Makes a great Easter present.

I still can't believe you convinced me to pose for that, Rarity. I'm not even in this story!
But, darling, you said that you could make Easter 20% cooler.
2Just be glad you're not stuck with a silly name like "Talon."
🦉 Who?
What?
C'mon, everypony! Time to eat our own weight in chocolate!
Chocolate muffin?
Sure!! *Chomp*
We don't have Easter in Equestria.
Who cares? CHOCOLATE!!!
Yay.
Celestia is very good at distraction. Even so I am amazed she got away with it. Page should know better, but centuries of practice must be almost impossible to overcome... and she will always be centuries ahead of him unless time travel.
Calling Captain Murphy! Your tardis is fueled and prepped for flight. We're just waiting for the alicorn stallion passenger to come on board, then you'll be clear for departure!
