December Blog: I Did Indeed Jinx Myself · 9:24pm Dec 13th, 2023

December's not typically a good month for me.

It's been a very bad month, even for December, so far.

Bad enough that I'd rather talk about it once we're into January and I can do so with hindsight.

But, hey, my commissions are open, if anyone wants to hire me. It helps me keep afloat, and honestly, I've been having a blast with the prompts I've been given.

Speaking of, onto the stats.

November Blog: Back In The Saddle, So To Speak · 7:16pm Nov 10th, 2023

I'm starting to feel a lot better. Not perfect, but better.

We're still isolating (thank you local grocery store for having a delivery option) to be on the safe side, but we're all past the worst of it symptom-wise. I'll have to see what the guidelines are regarding time between having covid and getting a booster shot, because if this situation has taught me anything, it's that keeping on top of my vaccinations is very necessary. Maybe I can get my flu shot at the same time.

Guess Who Caught The Plague · 9:14pm Nov 1st, 2023

It's really a case of "when" rather than "if" with Covid, isn't it? And managing to dodge it for almost four years is a pretty good record. That's what I've been telling myself, anyway.

October Blog: I Survived · 10:51pm Oct 9th, 2023

Yesterday was Thanksgiving for me, and it was... surprisingly nice. I got to talk with my cousin a bit about my fics, and while she's not big into MLP herself, she seems to think the idea of remixing the show into various genres is really cool, especially when I started explaining how interesting worldbuilding is from the standpoint of so many different species existing in the setting, quadrupeds vs bipeds, winged vs non, and so on.

An Author First: Custom Cover for The World Shall Rise From Ashes · 2:52am Oct 6th, 2023

In between working on writing to make up for an unproductive August and September, stressing over my medication, and mentally bracing myself for Canadian Thanksgiving coming up this weekend, something delightful happened.

The Art Of Talking Yourself Into Strange Ideas · 5:50pm Sep 24th, 2023

(Before we get into the strangeness: New Ko-Fi goal because I've had to both refill my migraine medication and my antidepressants, and given my troubles lately they're both very necessary and very pricy for me. If you can spare a buck or two, it's appreciated.)

September Blog: Better Late Than Never (Warning: Swearing In Included Video) · 4:07am Sep 15th, 2023

August didn't treat me well.

So far, September hasn't been much better. The physical side of it hasn't been as relentless now that the weather has cooled, though my migraines have still been nasty, along with some other sources of pain.

Sick · 6:24pm Aug 31st, 2023

First off: I'm not hospitalized, and I'm not asking for money. Just miserable.

This has not been a good month. I can get a weird sort of reverse seasonal depression, where my mood will tank in the summer and get better as I head toward fall and winter, but if it were just that, well... I'm a writer. I'd just spill it all across the page, maybe write several bits of flash fiction for the occasion as I work some of the bad feelings out. I can function through that.

August Blog: Finally Not About Teeth · 5:19pm Aug 5th, 2023

Okay, maybe just one thing, in the form of dog antics: One thing about Bowser is he's an absolute food fiend. Part of it is there's some hound blood in him, and I've never met a hound that didn't inhale their dinner and then see if you'll share yours. The other part is being a rescue dog who took a long while to have it sink in that he didn't have to worry about whether he'd have anything to eat at all.
