Finished the Maud and Cheese Story

Well, they are officially special someponies. I'll probably follow up with another story later in their lives together, if this one get popular enough.

I hope you all like/liked it! Please feel free to point out inconsistencies and/or errors; I tried to catch them all but it is hard to edit your own work.

    Best,
    Rhony

    Maude versus Maud

I think I've finally gotten rid of all the extra "e"s in my story - thanks to my DS for pointing them out!

Maud and Cheese are about to go on their date. But it isn't going to end like either of them predicted...

Now that Chapter 6 is done....

Well, it took a long time but I finally got Chapter 6 up. And my dear son finally read the first five chapters. He's really good with details, so I have some minor edits to make thanks to him. But nothing that will change the story.

Rock songs · 5:14pm Aug 8th, 2014

I think I'm the only person that read my last blog -- but I'm happy that my first Fanfic has gotten 115 views in three days! Yippee!

I've started making some progress toward writing the next chapter; before I can start I have to come up with Weird Al-type modifications to popular songs that turn them into useful teaching tools for geological classification. This would all be easier if I knew the first thing about geology. Thank Celestia for the Internet.

Well, here's what I've come up with so far. At this rate, it is going to take me a while to be ready to write the next chapter. Not that I'm using every song (or every part of every song) in the next chapter, but I want to have enough with which to work. Without further ado...

Chert (with apologies to Bob Dylan…)

How many names can you have for one rock,
That’s sedimentary?
Chemically formed and flaky to boot,
it’s luster is waxy
Sometimes is used for starting a fire,
And sometimes it’s just pretty…

The answer my friend,
Is Jasper, Flint, or Chert….
The answer is Jasper, Flint or Chert!

Jasper is pretty and flint makes a flame
And Chert is a general name,
Each is slightly different in form,
Though some ponies think they’re the same
Their hardness is always seven by Mohs
But mixing them up is just lame….

The answer my friend,
Is Jasper, Flint, or Chert….
The answer is Jasper, Flint or Chert!

Coal (with apologies to Inida Menzel)

The moon glowed white on a primeval night
But the swamp was lush and green
Plants they lived and plants they died
Then sank and were unseen
No oxygen to break them down in that water with no tide
No light or life, only time to bide…

Then sediments were washed into
That swamp and a rocky layer grew
Over time, the weight it took its toll
Plants became coal…

It’s just coal, it’s just coal,
It’s not alive anymore
It’s just coal, it’s just coal,
Plants that fell to the swamp floor
There they stood
And there they stayed
It’s just coal, it’s just coal,
Hiding there until today….

They’re many different types of coal, of different hardness rate
Peat isn’t even a rock, it’s barely a substrate
Lignite still looks a bit like plants, Bituminous is soft
Anthracite has the highest rank, now we’re really taking off…

It’s just coal, it’s just coal,
It’s not alive anymore
It’s just coal, it’s just coal,
Plants that fell to the swamp floor
There they stood
And there they stayed
It’s just coal, it’s just coal,
Hiding there until today….

That's it for now, although several others are in production and not quite ready for sharing!
