Bad Dragon

I write so that one day I may finally stop writing and be free, but these damn new ideas keep finding ways into my brain. I need to write more to vent them out!

Where to publish original stories? · 8:55pm Oct 27th, 2019

Wordpress. I used to do blog fics on WordPress all the time. 5 novels, all serialized. They have a lot of plug-ins that can help with navigation.

Here's how I did one.

That was using an installation, but Wordpress.com isn't a bad place either. I used it for a college story. I think you can still do plug-ins? And their hosting prices aren't bad, either.

The Web Fiction Guide is a good place to help get traffic too.

5146549 That's some good info right there. Thanks!

5146593 The story has to have pony in it in order to publish it on Fimfiction. If the story is original (and not fanfiction) Fimfiction might not be the right publishing platform.

Oh, derp. I misread "original".

You can publish original stories if they've been ponified here, though, and many of the archives you name need modification. I don't think you can publish original stories on some of those platforms unless the story is furry, can you?

5146891 You can publish original stories there if they've been furrified. :moustache:

Well, the same thing is true here, silly!

Er, I said that already. I'm tired and recovering from a cold.

...and one of my stories here might have originally been about anthropomorphic rabbit dickgirl androids when I wrote it twenty years ago but I ponified it and somehow made it T for Fimfiction. :twilightblush:

5146960 The funny thing is, if you write pony, you can also publish it on furry sites. They have a category for horses.

Well, yeah. Pony is definitely furry.

Except most EQG stuff, probably.

Royal Road, recent offshoot of Amazon company where success almost guarantees a contract with kindle. As for if the pay/contract is good? Unsure..

The readers prefer LitRPG, OP Mc, System style novels, though quality content outside of those categories sometimes makes it to the top list.

I also vaugely recall a widely used commission-based and competitive ghostwriting site but the name eludes me. Will be back with that one.

5747444 Thanks. I see you hang out in more of the professional writers' circles. I'll check out the things you mentioned.

Medium, Webnovel, Scribblehub, and Moonquil.
