If it weren't for the last minute ... · 5:50pm Dec 26th, 2021
So!
Here's to hoping everyone had a pleasant holiday! Despite some worst-case-scenario thinking on my part, things came together fairly well. Even got a couple of books as gifts, which is always nice. With any luck, you had an even better holiday than I did!
But yeah. Speaking of last minute stuff, it's worth noting that I didn't finish A Kludgetown Karol until the 24th-- and even then, I wrote a good third of the story (and came up with the twist at the end) that very day. Still, forbloodysummer seemed to like it, which was a relief. And something of a surprise, too, as Spitfire and Adagio Dazzle aren't characters I've paid much attention to before. Which is two years in a row now I've gotten a request for one of the Dazzlings for a Jinglemas story, which is two more stories I would've written about the Dazzlings otherwise. Seriously, they're kind of boring villains, and if you need a villainous redhead in an EQG setting for shipping or getting redeemed or whatever, Sunset Shimmer is right there.
Speaking of Sunset Shimmer, I changed it up a little and requested a story about Sunset and Sci-Twi, just as a change of pace from rarijack hijinks. And libertydude delivered! So yeah, go read his story. And also maybe his blog post about Solomon Kane, because it's fun to goob out about the old pulps and such.
Of course, as this too-short holiday break winds down (I've gotta go to work tomorrow, booo), and Jingelmas wrapped up, I realize I'm free to start working on stuff for 'myself' now. Including that non-pony thing I've been tinkering away at for ... awhile now. And it's a little intimidating, 'cause editing is haaard. But hey, now that holiday madness is winding down, I'll have time to start being productive!
... any time now.
Really.
Oh, heck. I need to do my Christmas shopping. For last year.
(Yes, I'm a little behind...)
