Death's job is simple. When somepony dies, it's up to him to make sure they pass on smoothly. Equestria isn't that large, and so his job is normally simple. A few here and there aren't ready to move on, and he helps them as much as he can. For him, life, or whatever it is you want to call it, is simple. Until Princess Luna, the only living being who can freely acces his little office, shows up with a request.

After all, Twilight is an alicorn now, and certain pieces of paper need to be filled out.

Twilight has long hated Hearth's Warming. Not the day itself, or what it means, but what it has become.

Twilight Sparkle has been the princess of Friendship for over three hundred years. She has watched countless ponies die. She has helped more than she cares to admit through the pain of loss. She has watched as time marched on and even the most important are forgotten to time.

Twilight is ready to move on.

Sunset Shimmer, invited by Twilight to an Equestrian Hearth's Warming party, finds herself back in the world she'd left long ago. Surrounded by familiar strangers and without a gift to give, she quickly becomes alienated from the other guests.

I've been feeling empty lately. Not sad, not happy, just... empty. I fake a smile around the girls. I don't know if they notice.

There is something that ends the emptiness. I don't like it, but I'd rather feel pain than nothing. So long as the girls don't notice. I don't need that kind of attention, or worry.

It has been a few weeks since the fall formal. The school has been repaired, Sunset has been, begrudgingly at least, accepted back into the student body, and she even has a few friends.

They all have so much energy to them. They laugh, they tease, the fight and make up. Sunset can't do that. Not yet. It takes too much energy, energy she doesn't have. Being around them is great. They've been so kind to her. They stand by her. Sunset only wishes she had the energy to do the same for them.

It has been a few days since the Fall Formal. Sunset is the construction crew's gopher, she still eats lunch alone, and she's feeling worse than ever. At the very least, she can feel proud of not having been a total she-demon since the dance. In fact, other than being lonely, she's been a model student.

So why in the name of Celestia is she being called to the principal's office?

After the betrayal of her friends over the new rumors of Anon - a -Miss, Sunset finds herself stranded in a school that now hates her. But as she continues to persevere through the harrowing school days, she starts to see that not everything is perhaps as dark as she once made it out to be. Even if her own friends don't believe her, that doesn't mean there aren't others that do.

Various short stories based on the Anon - a - Miss story line that I've been so enthralled with, but done in a far lighter tone than most of the stories I tend to come across on the topic. Events will be altered slightly, as well as an addition of a Suicide tag which is for a later chapter, which will be warned in advance.

Pinkie and Maud have been through a lot together. They moved away from their family to Canterlot, and they couldn't have been happier.

But of course, with a situation like their's, not everything is perfect. So when Pinkie finds out Maud is hiding something, she immediately blames herself for it.

Her mind's a bit backwards, but her heart's in the right place.
