Luna's been on the moon for the past millennium. So when she comes back, she feels out of place. No one she knows is alive anymore and this generation of ponies makes her feel even more alien. Celestia decides to have her meet some ponies who may understand her emotions and, in so doing, bring her out of her shell.

Centuries ago, the younger sibling of the Solar Princess was sealed away. What followed that was the disastrous rebellion of the young sister's soldiers. Once the rebellion was crushed along with the Lunar Branch of the diarchy a period of harmony begun... or at least that was what was said. During this period, an "Incident" happened that nearly caused the collapse of the Solar Monarchy. An event that was "lost" to history. Centuries later, after the resealing of Discord; Princess Celestia summoned Twilight Sparkle for a secret mission.

"Twilight Sparkle, please help the Lunar Captain make some friends."

A journey regarding the hidden dark past of Equestria waits for the young hero.

What is a pony? If asked that question the average citizen of Equestria would probably respond with a confused look and a mention of the three pony tribes. A particularly astute pony might reply with four tribes, remembering to include the Thestrals. A pony of a scholarly disposition may also add a list of characteristics as well - manes, cutie marks, some form of innate magic, hooves, vegetarian diet, etc. This is the answer that would have been received for thousands of years, from before the unification of the three tribes until very recently. Until the failed Changeling invasion. With the reveal of something so foreign, yet at the same time so familiar, what it means to be a pony is no longer quite so clear and obvious. And while professors and philosophers argue, another question is forgotten in the uproar: What if the Changelings weren't the only ones who were hiding?

This was just a silly one shot written for a contest in Nailah's discord server.

Celestial Era 1010. After the attempted coup by Nightmare Moon and the bloody conflict that followed, Celestia has emerged victorious. With her sister's forces scattered and leaderless, she creates the Order of Celestial Paladins to hunt down and capture any remaining Lunar Pegasi.

Should they come quietly, they will be purged of Luna's magic and transformed back into regular Pegasi. But if they refuse, well, Celestia has zero tolerance for Children of the Night. This is the story of one of them, a mare named Dusk Blossom, hunted by her own brother on order of Celestia.

Can she survive? And what will it do to her relationship with her brother?

This fic is a remake of the first fantasy short story I ever wrote, way back in 2012, simply entitled "Paladin". Consider this a thank you to all my followers who have helped me grow as a writer over the years within the pony fiction community!

This story assumes that the Children of the Night PMV is canon, with ponies willingly following Princess Luna.

The joy of student exchange comes to Ponyville elementary in the form of the rambunctious Bat Pony Narcissus Floret. The CMC are going to enjoy a vacation from Diamond Tiara. Narcissus has a history of destruction and combined with catastrophic force that is the CMC, Ponyville is going to Tartarus. Narcissus has many lonely nights ahead of her. Who will she find to help her cope with the long night.

My entry for Equestria Daily's October Bat Pony Write Off. This was going to be my entry but now it's getting to be too long. Oh, well. Its got a life of its own now. I can't bare to cut it short just because of a couple entry rules. May the night last forever.
