Sightings of a mountaintop phantom line up with a few too many worrisome legends for Sunny Starscout's comfort. Short on time and even shorter on adventuring companions, she heads out to confront it.

By herself, but not alone.

This is an entry in the Snippet Series, an anthology of old oneshots that I (and my good buddy Str8aura) wrote based around interesting pics I found. New ones will be posted every other Thursday for the foreseeable future.

Sunny has... doubts. What is she now? What kind of Princess should she be?

For that matter, taking her past into account, should she even be a Princess at all? She remembers what her life was like growing up, and suddenly she's supposed to forgive and forget? Thankfully, two other Princesses, one new and one old both have their thoughts on the matter...

Sunny Starscout was ventured far and wide and accomplished her dream of uniting the three tribes, bestowing a new era for Equestria.

But her hunger for adventure was far from complete. Just a few days after the ending of their journey, she huddled her friends and supplies to travel to the far west to uncover ancient ruins that were once a critical location to Equestria's lost history.

If her father's research was correct, the town's name was Ponyville.

Sunset Shimmer returns to Equestria only to discover everypony she knew is now ancient history.

Having received her teaching degree, Sunset Shimmer is back at CHS to help guide along a new generation with the lessons she's had to learn about magic and friendship.

Sunny invites Hitch out to go see Poniator 2: Judgement Neigh, and Hitch begins to wonder if this longtime friendship is beginning to turn into something more.

Of all the ponies to unearth the lost history of Equestria, Hitch Trailblazer considers himself more an accessory to Sunny Starscout's breadth—and depth—of knowledge. Still, he knows just as well as her that there are more parts of the old world left behind than any would dare to know.

Alone on patrol one afternoon, Hitch discovers that some of that lost history can talk.

Sunny Starscout; with the help from her new friends Izzy Moonbow, Hitch Trailblazer, Pipp Petals, and Zip Storm; have done so much good in restoring Friendship and Magic to Equestria. However, one burning question has been on Sunny's mind: why was Friendship and Harmony replaced by paranoia and distrust in the first place? Why did the three pony races turn on each other after being united for so long before?

Well, after quite a bit of research and searching, Sunny was able to track down the one creature who knew the answer to that question. Even before entering his home, Sunny knew that it was going to be a tragic and heavy tale. . .

Takes place some time after the events of My Little Pony: A New Generation (2021).
