Even the most common sayings can lead into larger things. Twilight sends a letter to Celestia confronting her unjustly founded fears of Twilight's immortality years after the passing of her last friend.

Based off an idea conceived early this morning. Approx 1 hour went into this. Finally have a proper counter to the Twilight Sadfics out there.

"All my life, I've wanted to fly
But I don't have the wings, and I wonder why
I can't break away..."
Most pegasi figure out flying easily enough. Heck, most of them figure out how to do it before they even get their cutie marks.

But not me. I couldn’t do it, no matter how hard I tried. I couldn’t even hover. Not for more than a few seconds, anyway. And not even Rainbow Dash, the greatest flier in Equestria, could seem to help me. We tried everything, and I failed every time. Day after day, I tried – and day after day, I failed, until finally I was ready to just give up. I’d never be able to do it. Nopony would ever be able to help me to fly...

...until one day, somepony did.

Scootaloo overhears Twilight talking about a time travel machine. She breaks into the library and travels back in time to meet her hero, Rainbow Dash, as a filly. It would have been the perfect plan if Dash had been anything like she expected.

Part of my one-shot week.

In an alternate universe, Celestia is the dictator of the land of Paneighm. There used to be 13 districts, but the Lunar District, led by Princess Luna, rebelled and was destroyed. As a reminder to never rebel again, Celestia established an anual fight to the death with 24 tributes, one colt and one mare from each district. In the 74th Pony Games, Fluttershy volunteers to save Applejack's little sister. But will she survive? (NOTE: This story is based off the book by Suzanne Collins.
