Octavia Melody's love of music has revolved around a single influential and prestigious work of art, the song May Our Sun Shine Forever. Since she was a filly, what has been the Equestrian national anthem for generations has continually inspired Octavia to perform, shaping her into the promising cellist she is today. Though the completed original was lost to the passage of time, the remnants of the final masterpiece composed by the Grand Maestro Glissando has been the cornerstone of not only Octavia's career, but modern music theory in Equestria.

When the tattered remains of an ancient songbook possibly containing the original song in its entirety is found, the Equestrian Society for the Performing Arts and Princess Luna begin planning a concert series to celebrate the work's eventual restoration. However, their meeting screeches to a halt once Princess Celestia vehemently forbids anypony from playing the original in the concert and demands its restoration to cease immediately. Octavia Melody finds herself at a loss, wondering why the princess of the sun would silence such a beautiful song meant to bring light to the world.

Celestia and Luna have lived long and suffered greatly. Luna, still insecure in her newfound grace, is anxious to secure herself against any further suffering. She sees in Twilight Sparkle (and in many others) the roots of ten thousand tragedies. Celestia proposes a wager.

A very loose retelling of the Book of Job.

Annoyed that the nobles keep taking up all of princess Celestia's time filly Twilight vents the only way she knows how. By writing an essay! However she wrote this essay on the blank bottom of the scroll containing the speech Princess Celestia was to read to her little ponies. And once the speech ends, Celestia doesn't stop. Much to the horror of some of the nobles in the crowd.

In an alternate ending to ‘Rainbow Rocks’, the Dazzlings still suffer failure, but their powers remain.

However fortunate, the repercussions are far worse than they can imagine, as Princess Twilight wishes to ensure the safety of both worlds by taking one of the Dazzlings back to Equestria to try and reform her. A “ward” if you will, which to the Dazzlings is just a fancy word for “hostage,” for if the other two act up, the ward will be sent to Tartarus, or worse.

Follow the Dazzlings as each copes with this situation.

Twilight Sparkle worries that she might one day grow bitter and spiteful, and turn into somepony akin to Nightmare Moon. To combat this, Twilight prepares a spell that will let her go inside her mind and battle her negative personality traits while they're still weak and unformed. It doesn't end well.

Rarity and Spike eventually reconstruct the notes that Twilight used to create her spell, and decide to go inside Twilight's mind to wake her from her magically-induced coma.

It also doesn't end well.

But a bad ending isn't going to stop Rarity and Spike from trying to rescue Twilight anyway.

After a long day of peril and danger, all Twilight wants to do is cuddle up with her baby dragon, who, for only a brief minute, had been the ruler of all dragonkind in Equestria.

Four years ago, Shining Armor’s parents died in a horrific car accident, leaving him and his wife to take care of his little sister, Twilight Sparkle. There isn’t a thing that he wouldn’t do for her, yet there are times when it feels like there isn’t anything he can do for her. To him, the time she spent under his care has been nothing but a long string of him letting her down.

All things considered, it is understandable that she wouldn’t want to spend a day reserved for celebrating one’s parents with him.

After all, he is not Twilight’s father, and she’s not his daughter, right?

Being a princess is stressful, but your peers and friends can certainly help.

That was what Twilight had in mind when she invited Luna over for tea one afternoon. A relaxing, friendly meeting between two fellow princesses where they can commiserate and share their experiences. An invitation to a stronger friendship than they had before, offered to a pony displaced in time.

What she got was an uncomfortable assertion about her relationship with her number one assistant, Spike. One that she is having difficulty refuting.
