Being trapped in limbo for over 1,000 years certainly gives you time to think, but Starswirl has done a lot of that already. After all, he has a legacy and a reputation.

But over 1,000 years also changes those in the world around you, and now two of Starswirl's young pupils have become rulers of the land. And if anyone knows what they were like before they took over the throne, it's Starswirl.

And so, the old wizard finds himself flashing back to his years spent tutoring the young royal sisters. What sort of memories does he have of the princesses as fillies? And more importantly, what did they think of the mighty Starswirl back then?

First they killed the diamond industry. Then it was napkins. Now the millennial generation is killing cutie marks. One journalist tries to find out why.

Thunderlane has always been the 'middle of the road' of the team, yet he seems determined enough to pass through his limits. Though sometimes, it might've leave some gossips for his little brother. For better or worse.

Winter is at it's apex in Ponyville, but the year is not long for the world. New Year's is in full swing at Sweet Apple Acres. Two spent nags, mugs of cider in their hooves, sit before a roaring fire and find that their score is not yet settled. In the fields, a quiet blanket of snow and an emotional rollercoaster await. It's time to step outside.

(The song featured in this tale, "What are you Doing New Year's Eve?" is a favorite holiday song of the author. It was written in 1947 by Frank Loesser, and popularized by the author's favorite voice in music, Ella Fitzgerald.)

For three years Tirek has been locked up in his cage in Tartarus, never able to even visit any part of the place. Just stay in the one place stuck in a cage and nothing to do but imagine what he would have done to all the miserable ponies when and if he ever gets out.

However, the same day as when the six pony legends and the Pony of Shadows escaped, Tirek gets a visit from some creature from his past, and he does not like anything that he has to say.

After the Mane Six finish singing Flawless, one pony in particular, being that she genuinely understood it, helps the fan ponies see that nobody is really perfect, even celebrities.

As Starswirl the Bearded ponders what stayed and what was forgotten on Hearth's Warming Eve following his disappearance, he finds that his two pupils might have forgotten him.
