After a disastrous night at the Grand Galloping Gala, Gadget and Midnight just want to sit back and relax for a while. But royal duty call's and the two are soon swept up into a political game of cat and mouse. And to make thing's worse the king of chaos himself is soon unleashed upon Equestria. To complicate matter's, even more, a new and mysterious threat is making its presence known. Ponies are disappearing only to be found later with odd memories and behaviors. Can Gadget and his friend's find a way to stop this new threat before it can take over Equestria from within?

Technically a prequel to my other fic, The Twilight Prince: Redux, and uses common worldbuilding, but should be readable as a stand alone one-shot.

This story is a sequel to Trapped in Slumber

In the aftermath of a series of events at Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, Twilight finds herself open to a whole new world of friendship and the complications that brings. It's a good thing she has a mentor to look towards for guidance, even as dark events unfold in the shadows, pulling her along in a game of cosmic scale.

A long time ago, something was placed into our universe and no one noticed. In that moment, one timeline became two, running parallel. Nothing would be different, nothing would change... until that fateful night. We were the unlucky ones.

So there I was at my first convention. Awesome costume? Check. Few hundred bucks to waste on merch? Check. Keyblade to complete the costume? No check, couldn't get one cheep. Imagine my surprise when I find perfect replicas of both Oathkeeper and Oblivion. For two hundred bucks! The vendor is as creepy as all get out, but hey, a good deal's a good deal!

Next thing I know, well, you've heard this story before. Whisked off to Equestria, trapped in stone because of a misunderstanding, heartless trying to consume the world...

OK, that one's probably unique to me.

Nightmare Moon has finally regained her corporeal form after being torn apart, mentally and physically, by the Elements. But there is nothing for her here. Where can she go?

James has managed to reach past graduation. Sadly, he is still alone, no one to hold him close at night or when he feels weak. No one that he would gladly give his heart to.

They shall meet, hilarity ensues.

Shawn Spencer, psychic detective, is a thick-tufted boy genius who ice skates through life on polished blades of snarky eloquence. He has tested himself against some of the greatest criminal minds of his time and emerged victorious... though often through unbelievable luck and not a small amount of bumbling.

Now, he faces a challenge unlike any before. One that will test his mind, his sanity, and his adaptability as he is thrust into the midst of an unfamiliar world and the ponies who populate it.

The Mane 6 face their own challenge, as an old enemy, tempered in the crimes of a much harsher world than theirs, returns to Equestria. It is a challenge they are ill-prepared for and one that only their strange, new, alien friend can help them overcome.

Twilight would never have imagined that Nightmare Moon would return. But, at the same time, she was happy to see her again. She knows that Nightmare Moon is evil, but is she to blame for Nightmare Moon being so beautiful?

After 989 years on the moon, Nightmare Moon is eagerly awaiting her return to Equestria, take down her sister, and claim what should rightfully be hers.

However, one can only brood and plan for so long before things grow... stagnant.

And then, something catches her eye, coming towards her moon's surface at an alarming speed. Maybe this, whatever it is, will prove to aid her in her plans.

Story was written for Jinglemas 2021 as a gift for PeerImagination. They wanted a Nightmare Moon and Human romance, and I hope I did good by ya! Apologies for the story length, but it got waaaay out of hand on me and I have a disease where if I'm writing something I'm liking then I tend to do more than I should.

The Elements of Harmony didn't completely destroy Nightmare Moon, they banished her yet again. This time however, she was not sent to the moon... but another world entirely. Now Nightmare Moon must survive the frozen world of Frostpunk. Will she receive help from the locals? Will she receive help in return? Or will the frost consume them regardless?

And is this the last that Equestria will see of the Nightmare?

Celestia has been preparing for Luna’s return in exacting detail, most of which is being kept from the other ponies. Unfortunately, a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing.

Shining Armor wakes up one morning to discover that the entire Day Guard has quit, save for a single Pegasus named Cloud Skipper. Their reason: anger over thinking they're being replaced by the Night Guard, made up of a single Night Pony named Midnight Blossom. Before he can pull the situation together, Nightmare Moon returns. Still, one can only make the best of a bad situation.

But even after Princess Luna is restored, the problems don't stop. It's nearly impossible to recruit any more Guards, leaving the reparations in the hands of three ponies. Nightmare Moon isn't entirely gone, still haunting the dreams of Skipper and Midnight. Certain warlike cultures may notice Equestria's weakness and invade. And the old commander of the Day Guard, Cumulus, may have had other motives for his disbanding them...

Truths will be uncovered, identities will be questioned, and nightmares will come to life. But maybe, even in the eternal night, a light can be found and followed to the dawn.

Notes: British spellings used for all except names. Also, Hasbro owns My Little Pony, and Cloud Skipper and Midnight Blossom were originally created by Equestria-Prevails on Deviantart. The only thing I own is this particular story.
Rated Teen for blood and occasional uncensored swearing, but no detailed gore and no sex.
