Soarin' just blinked at Rainbow, unsure on how to tell her what happened. Maybe it was best if he didn't? For Celestia's sake! She was watching him. He began to wonder if he should fly away and move, or stay and tell her. He went with the best idea... tell her.

"Well, Spitfire is the kind of mare to toy with your emotions and leave you behind after she has had her fun.."
"So, she left you... alone?"
"Basically, I don't know WHY I let her do that. I should have saw it coming."
"So, you practice with her right?"
"I can't make eye contact with her, too much heartbreak, ya know?"
"Oh, well... I'm sorry Soarin', you'll always have me, right? I'll be your friend." Rainbow punched Soarin's shoulder.
"I guess that makes it a little better."
"Terrific," Rainbow said with a small smile. Soarin' smiled back at her.

Rainbow hopped up off the cloud and hovered next to Soarin' "So, how about we go to Sugarcube Corner and get all these sappy emotions out of us? Pinkie should be throwing a party or something. You never know what that pink pony is gonna do." She said shaking her head.
Soarin' smiled and nodded. "Well, sure, Rainbow, how about a friendly race over there?"
"Oh, you're challenging the one and only Rainbow Dash now, eh? Well, flyboy, you're ON!"
Soarin' just laughed.

With these hands that will reach out like a scarecrow

Soarin' landed in front of Sugarcube Corner, Rainbow was a-little-tiny-bit-of-a-nose-with-a-feather behind him, as Pinkie would say.
"Well, Rainbow, looks like you just got beat."
"HA! Fat chance! I was TOTALLY the winner," Rainbow said jabbing her hoof on his chest.
Soarin' just snickered at her, "Whatever you say, Rainbow."
"Whatever, flyboy, lets go eat, I'm STARVING!"

After Soarin's and Rainbows adventures in Sugarcube Corner, Soarin' couldn't help but wonder if he still liked Rainbow. Sure, they were together for a year, but he wasn't sure. Him and Spitfire weren't really... dating? I guess just friends with benefits. Hell, he lost his appetite for a lot of things. What disturbed him the most, was how much he hadn't eaten an apple pie. It seemed like Soarin' was spiraling down life. He was cursed with his hooves, he destroies everything he touches.
"So, Soarin' it seems to be getting late, we should head home."
"Yeah, I guess."
Rainbow smiled, "Soarin, you will always have me as a friend, ya know? I'll always lend a helping hoof."
Soarin' gave a weak smile. "I guess, Rainbow... thanks."
Rainbow nuzzled his head "No prob, look, maybe we can hang out next week? Say.. Saturday?"
"Sure."
Both pegasi departed, saying their farewells. Soarin' went to go and think at his house.

Soarin' arrived home and he went up to his bedroom to lay down and think.
'Rainbow is so amazing, I wish confidence could come to me like that, I guess shes one special pony to be able to put something up like that,' he started thinkming more and more about her. 'She is kind of cute, with her tone body and rainbow mane, and that exotic cutie mark. A patch of cloud with a red, yellow, and blue lightning bolt... perfection.'
Soarin' shook his head 'Dude, what are you THINKING? She likes you as a friend, nothing more. I wish she did though, it'd be nice.' Soarin's ears drooped down. He just ran circle on with hooves on his bed, thinking.

That was when Soarin' relised. Maybe.... she DID like him more than a friend? Unsure on how to act if he didn't like her more than that. Soarin' got up and walked downstairs, got out a big apple pie and ate. After eating, he went back up to his bedroom to think more on the subject. He fell asleep thinking of Rainbow...
"I don't want to let you go.."
