Can't believe I'm saying this about a selfcest fic of all things, but this was cute.
Also,
I'm pretty sure species would be better replaced with race. Ponies can breed with one another and the offspring is, outside of magical mishaps, an earth pony, a pegasus, or unicorn based on the parents own subraces and I'm sure a shitload of other genetic information required to code for innate magical control and dictate race.

I prefer "tribe". It avoids some of the baggage associated with race.
Not bad overall but not great either. For a clopfic it felt slow and underwhelming, but for a romance it was probably too fast and felt a bit artificial.
Despite its shortcomings, it is probably the best selfcest romance on FimFic.
