I'm a science-fiction and fantasy buff, creator of the Chakat Universe, and now dabbling in the MLP:FiM universe. I love a good story!

What Is An Alicorn?

A miserable pile of secrets? :derpytongue2:

man, i... can't say... i've enjoyed this, yes, i have. :rainbowderp:

The first downvote for me on the messaging

Well.. You at least had sense to make this an AU. Too many that have alicorns be hermaphrodites don't. Luckilly, Hasbro never made this even remotely canon.

Backlash from both sides, since I doubt they would've done it well.

Nice writing with few grammatical errors. I was not expecting a hermaphrodite story though. Would it be possible to put a tag or something in the story description? Please and thank you.

It has the "Sex" tag to cover mature themes. If I put "hermaphrodite" in the description, it would spoil the surprise.

That's a good point. Guess I should spoiler tag my other comment then. :rainbowwild:

Unicorns are hermaphrodites. They fire their horns into each other to reproduce, like snails.

Not to argue, but this is one of those "I've seen enough hentai to know where this is going" moments. =)
While description is innocent enough, "Sex" tag plus chapter title is a dead giveaway combo.

It's a fine balance between intriguing a potential reader and giving too much away. The "Sex" tag is required for these kind of stories, otherwise I wouldn't have used it. Win some, lose some.

Reading this was fun!:rainbowlaugh: It would be interesting to see a sequel, but only if the author wishes. The story is entertaining and it can end there that I would not mind, I would not want the author to feel pressured.

Why should a mere gender change be something that requires the AU tag?

AU is for essentially canon divergence (since FimFiction doesn't have a tag for that), or a significant world/lore/character difference that couldn't pass in canon.

10875250
In this case, the main thing that "couldn't pass in canon" is the idea that naughty bits exist at all, with specifics thereof being a distant second. And that's more the TV-Y rating than anything that could reasonably be called "Alternate Universe".

I'm having a severe case of deja vu right now... Was it posted somewhere else before? Or I'm just mixing it with something similar... Dunno, but nice story still : )

It's possible that someone else wrote on a similar theme. I know that there's porn on this theme but I was concentrating on the rationale behind the transformation and having some some fun with the concept.

Yeah, from the description, I kinda saw that coming.

And from not far into the story, I kinda saw that coming *cough* too.

Edit: 69th like. Nice.

amazing story born from a question.

Actually, that part about them being both genders makes a lot of sense. The only really AU part is Twilestia ship.

The story's alicornology reminds me of a Greek myth about why humans have two sexes (that the original human was hermaphrodite and was split into male and female)

So I take it that this is the dimension that Trixie and Twilight visited in the chapter where they were exploring different dimensions eh Goldy? :trollestia:

Yep. I like making connections between my stories, even when they are in different universes!

guess it was bound to happen, wwould have been such a chame if my entry of the Herm Alicorn had stood alone and unopposed?
10935139
if it is the same characters, makes perfect sense to use this smipet to ground it.
10913813
Wait, I heard of it, somewhere; even if I paid it little mind, but I guess it makes beautiful sence if you stop to think of it?

A certain pink earth pony smiled knowingly

Yes, that Earthpony is always Certain.
Oh, and pink..

And from knowing Goldfur :3

I love this and I want more

College Twilight

"Ugh, the stallion gaze is, like, totally problematic yo."

"Like full on."

"Totally."

One alicornundrum later

"... Welp so much for that particular societal picacilo."

......

Silliness aside I will offer my actual thoughts later on
