There's a loophole where you can do anything so long as you sing a song about it.
This threw me a little bit because Twilight is smart enough to know what's happening (as evidenced by the second half of the paragraph) but while under the spell, she shouldn't be able to lie. I feel like she would have been compelled to ask 'you're going to make Shining lick that off me, aren't you?' or somesuch. As just asking 'what was that for?' is a lie of omission so strong I feel like it would trigger the spell!
Magical semantics aside, it was good.
