This is very very well written fluff. MLP was one of my comforts in med school and I can't count the number of days I had a similar fantasy to this.
Definitely also captures the feeling of just not having any time by the time you get home, but having someone to just keep you company while you do cleanup and necessary chores before you collapse from exhaustion really helps.
