Reorganizing Divine Jealousy and the Voice of Reason · 11:04pm Oct 16th, 2014
I am going to reorganize Divine Jealousy and the Voice of Reason. Chapter 13, "Waiting for the Princesses," which is at present a huge flow clog at over 12,000 worlds of in-action, is going to be split up and put between the chapters of Luna's Tale. This will also keep the two story threads more or less synchronized in time. This is going to mean that a lot of false New Chapters posted will be generated. Sorry about that.
I actually didn't mind Waiting for the Princesses--I really like the back stories of the rest of the Mane Five. But the reorganization makes sense, too. I try not to make my chapters too long, with the exception of that mammoth 15,000 word grand finale in LGW, and I think that did warrant the exception. And breaking Luna's story up will probably make things more interesting.
Of course, this means you will greatly extend the section on Pinkie Pie and/or get back to Pinkie Sense and Sensibility pronto, right? Rrrrrright?
Heh ... I don't know if I'm going to extend "Pinkie, Dancing" but I have been thinking about returning to Pinkie Sense and Sensiblity. Also, have you ever considered that Jane Austen may have been given Internet access to the future by a time-traveling fan and been inspired by that story title?
Pinkie Sense and Sensibility is actually pivotal to some important parts of my continuity, and I have several major incidents in my head for it which I intend to cover, including ...
The difficulty of keeping cookies and other sweets from twin little fillies who like to eat them, especially when one can directly sense their location by examining worldlines and the other can open spacetime Gates at will.
Just what happened when Pinkie Pie decided to run off a cliff to get attention, and how this led to Maud discovering that she had a (very limited and clumsy) flight field. Also, why there are now craters roughly in the shape of small hoofprints blasted into the solid stone of the wall and floor of that canyon.
The Shadow Drake attack on the Pie Rock Farm, and Maud's epic fight against the invader.
Pinkie Pie and Paradise versus Cloud Kicker and Winning-Through-Degradation.
Just why Pinkie Pie was so astonished to see Twilight Sparkle for the first time in "Mare in the Moon."
And more. But right now the chapter that is half written is the courtship of Igneous Rock and Cloudy Quartz Pie, much of which I showed you. And why being the grand-daughter of a half-crazy and mostly-unihibited mathematical genius and her totally-loyal husband and mathematical collaborator, and the daughter of a scientist, sorceress and midwife can be very embarrassing for a fifteen year old mare in love, as Cloudy Quartz Pie is about to find out.
