Well, about half an hour ago, we got our 10 qualifiers from the second semi, to go along with the Big Five, the host, and the 10 qualifiers from Tuesday night.
Tuesday was exhilarating and tense (possibly because none of the songs except Denmark, Belarus and Netherlands actually got a rise out of me); today was made of disappointment. Not that I mind Hungary and Iceland making it through to the finals, but come on, Europe, Armenia and Romania? Really? And you leave San Marino and Albania by the wayside for those two? What the hell happened here? I'd call Romania qualifying the least explicable part of the competition this year, if it weren't for Lithuania getting through on Tuesday.
Anyway, for completeness' sake, here's the lineup for this year's final:
Big Five and host: France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom
Semi 1 (in order of announcement): Moldova, Lithuania, Ireland, Estonia, Belarus, Denmark, Russia, Belgium, Ukraine, Netherlands (for the first time since 2004!)
Semi 2 (in order of announcement): Hungary, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, Norway, Iceland, Armenia, Finland, Malta, Greece
Still, I'm looking forward to Saturday. This should be interesting.
