I fee like I need to put something in this space. How about a brief introduction?
The caption under my (currently non-existent) avatar actually sums things up quite well:

What? You want more? Fine…
I didn’t plan on writing fan fiction, not even as my interest in MLP shifted from keeping my daughter company on the couch to scouring the internet for every last scrap of information on the next episode. The last time I wrote fan fiction was in middle school, and I sincerely hope all records of it are lost forever. It was lousy stuff for a, compared to FiM, lousy TV show. I didn’t think any of it was so bad at the time, of corse. It’s easy to keep moving forward when you’ve got loads of past embarrassments to run away from.
When I saw the vast breadth of MLP fan fics out there I told myself that that just wasn’t for me. I kept telling myself that I needed to concentrate on my full length novel. I’ve been working on it for nearly two years and am currently in the umpteenth round of editing. Should I ever fulfill my dream of getting it professionally published, be prepared to be inundated with links to Amazon. Don’t hold your breath though, professional publishing is a gauntlet that relatively few authors (and fewer manuscripts) ever conquer.
Month after month of editing just isn’t the same was writing. For my own sanity I needed to write something. Enter the EFNW 2014 writing contest. The deadline was looming, the prompt interesting, and the length limit challenging. My entry is my first attempt at MLP fan fiction, Lightning. Give it a read and tell me what you think. While you’re at it check out the other stories and vote in the community choice awards, there are some fantastic stories in there.
Will there be more? Yep. I’ve started down the MLP path, forever will it have a part in my destiny. I’ve got several story ideas already.
It’s probably not going to be soon though; real life responsibilities, like feeding the family, are taking priority.
