Phew! Time sure flies when you're having fun - and I would know. How d'ya think the TARDIS works?
I mean, yes, there's all that stuff with Artron Energy and the like, but that really only runs the lights and the flashy sound effects. Everything else - and I mean everything - is powered by pure, undiluted fun.
That's why she keeps sending us off to all those weird and wacky places! I mean, it's not like I'm unlucky enough to put us in danger every time I land, is it? Nope, it's all part of the TARDIS' master plan: live vicariously through me. And my companions, I suppose, but they're not nearly as fun as I am. Except you, Derpy - even I'm not strange enough to keep up with yo- OW! BUGGER! STOP THAT!
Anyway, what happened a couple of days ago (or weeks, or centuries, but who's even counting any more?) is probably enough to power her for decades. I swear, I had more fun there than on Quozgath Five; and that's saying something. There was cake, dancing, music, cake, interesting ponies, cake, and did I mention cake? The cake was good. I should have cake more often. I had fun, Ditsy had fun, Dinky had fun - hey, I bet Davros would've had fun, if he'd attended (for the record, he didn't. He totally should've, though; they had frikkin' cake. What more could he want?)
In fact, you could say that it was the
BEST
NIGHT
EV- (whadd'ya mean, "That's copyrighted."? Fine, fine. I won't say it.)
What I meant to say was... I went to the Grand Galloping Gala!
It was pretty strange, actually - I wasn't intending to go, per se, but three tickets just randomly appeared in the TARDIS, and when Derpy saw them... well, you know what mares are like. So, I showed her to my wardrobe (and yes, I keep mare's clothes - never know when they might be needed, and I've built up quite a collection over the years), and it was settled. We were going.
I decided not to wear anything fancy, in the end - just my favourite green tie (it brings out my eyes, don't-cha-know). I was planning on at least a jacket as well, but Ditsy stopped me. Something about "Looking as good as I was going to get" - isn't she sweet, complementing me like that?
We got there about nine-ish (the ticket said seven, but I liked to be fashionably late when I could. Also, I was a bit stuck in the Dark Ages - not much fun to be had there, you see) and the party was already in full swing.
It was everything I had imagined! Lots of important ponies in formal dress; food stacked high on every table; there were garlands and strips of bunting and colourful flags an-
It was at that point that I was interrupted by the faint sound of singing. Now, being a music lover (as I may previously have mentioned), I immediately set out to see who it was. Imagine my surprise when I discovered half a dozen flamboyantly dressed mares performing what appeared to be an on-the-spot musical number, complete with backing vocalists (how did they all know the words? They must have practised for weeks!").
Quickly, I found myself tapping my hoof to the beat. Then, my tail began swishing in time, and my head started to bob. I reckon that I was about... three seconds from joining in with the chorus, when Derpy suddenly dragged me off to socialise. I was so close!
Anyway, I attempted to hobnob for a bit (I even met this white stallion who asked me for dating advice - lovely bloke, hope things worked out for him with that Cadance filly), but that damnable tune kept echoing in my skull. Things weren't helped when a pink mare - one of the fillies who sang the piece in the first place, in fact - jumped up on stage and began to play an even catchier tune!
I'm afraid I had to leave pretty quickly after that, or else I'd have deafened everypony within hearing range with my singing, so we didn't get to see the end of the party. I suppose it just wound down after that - it seemed unlikely that anything too odd would happen at the Grand Galloping Gala, of all places, and even more unlikely that they were giving away goodie bags, so it wasn't like we missed out on much. Still, we had lots of fun.
Now, if only I could GET THAT SONG OUT OF MY HEAD.
DW
P.S. One strange thing - there was this buck in the garden (blue coat, blonde mane) who kept on shooting me odd looks. Didn't catch his cutie mark. Do you reckon he was coming on to me?
Ah goodness. You seem to attract mares and stallions Doctor. It's too bad you didn't stay for the whole gala. Couldn't get any odder? Doctor don't make me laugh! If only you had been there through it all.

Why? What happened?
Also - how the bloody hell do you know what happened? I thought that personal time streams couldn't cross!
Well, damn. I had tickets to that. Before you ask, both of my parents were high society unicorns (Twilight Sparkle, the Element of Magic, is actually my third cousin-- haven't seen her in a while though), so the whole family got an invitation. Apparently my great-great-great grandfather's cousin was a pegasus, so I got those genes somewhere down the line. That makes sense, right?

Normally personal times treams can't. But I think I've figured it out. But before I say my theory or tell you what happened, I need to ask. Are you originally from this pony universe?
154382
Are you implying that you're not?
154028
You mean you didn't attend? I'm sure I saw somepony with your colouring at the reception. Must have been a mistake. Or time travel.
Whatever.
154577
I just need to know. Are you or are you not from this universe?
154775
Gallopfrey born and bred, I'm afraid. No universe hopping for me.
Or... at least... not recently.
154896
So you ARE from this universe. Then my theory is correct! I am not you! You appear to be a pony time lord from, what was it, Gallopfrey? Really. Really another equine related name. I suppose that's only natural. Anywho, you are from this universe. I am not. You appear to be my parallel in this universe and I am yours. Brilliant! Last of the time lords? I think not!
155096
You're not from this universe? I shouldn't really get my hopes up but... have you, perchance, come across a... good friend... of mine?
I, well, lost her. A long time ago. And... yeah.
It'd be nice to know how she's doing. Check up on her...
Something like that, anyway.

I've made some good friends. They were all great. I only wish I...could have...but I can't...anymore...
Ah well! The past is the past! But no, I'm not from this universe.
